Francis “Slip” Madigan Scholarship
It would mean a lot too me I want to set a standard and pathway for the future generations in my family, that anything is possible and this scholarship would significantly help me with my plan on being a music artist in the future, because the places and people I come from never had a voice so I want my music to be the voice of of the unheard and be the face of the unseen.
Maureen "Moe" Graham Memorial Scholarship
I displayed positivity towards my situation my situation was in middle school I always wanted too make the basketball team but never made it so my 8th grade summer I looked at myself and realized how fat and unhealthy I was but I was determined to make the basketball team my freshman year of high school.
Throughout summer I cut the sugar in my life no soda sweets like chocolate and candy reduced my portions of food a day and no fast food I only drank water, I also ran 3 miles every morning during the summer even though I had weak knees everyday that I ran.
Also I joined a basketball aau team I was the slowest fattest most unathletic player and least skilled, I was reminded constantly of that by my father coach and teammates but I still was kind to them and respected their opinions of me, somtimes my father would leave the games just too not see me embarrassing myself but I was positive of myself and believed hard work paid off.
I was never late to a single practice or game during the summer I lost soo much weight I was 220 pounds to 190 pounds I lost 30 pounds in three months, I became faster stronger more athletic then the day for freshman try outs I went did the best I could ,next Tuesday checked for my name on the board then I saw my name on the board I was happy that my hard work and consistency paid off.

My Uncle died last year of 2021 he left behind a wife and 2 children he died of colon cancer he went through it privately he never told anybody for months even too my father and me, my uncle was the life of the party very boisterous happy kind and supportive.
when I was a child he'd always give me a big hug he always wished the best of me saying like I'll be something great, he'll take me places to hang out sometimes take me to play soccer with him and his friends and at his wedding I was his ring bearer at 8 years old he could of chose any of his friends family or my dad but me, and he kept it a secret from me till the last moment.
As I was walking down to meet the them in the Church with the two rings I was nervous saying not to trip and fall, or the rings fall out of my hands cause my hands were shaking rapidly and the quiet stares of the two families didn't make it better. but I did it without a problem then he told me he's proud of me, and rubbed my head I smiled so proudly because of that this was my highlight of the wedding.
So when I heard from my father after the wife told him I immediately was saddened and worried cause I loved him my father rushed to their house after work the following day, the wife took him to see my uncle at the hospital my father told me that he looked so sick and tired and his face looked pale he could barely talk he could only mutter.
During the weekend I went to the house and saw the kids the oldest was 6 years old the youngest was 4 years old, I started tearing up cause they'll never be able to truly spend time with their dad like I did with him I viewed him like a father so this made me think of my father, my dad and the wife was talking about what should they do and realized there's nothing to do but hope he gets better but he didn't he died weeks later.
So we prepared for his burial at his burial it was so depressing his wife all she could do was cry but mentally I realized what mattered most was family and time, because at the burial there were at least 80 people who came to the burial this many people came because how much he meant to them, his impact on their life was outstanding it showed the love he had.
Then time the time we have in this world Is unknown cause no one knows how long they'll live, so use the time you have to impact the world and others around you like he did to me and the others, and I want to fight too achieve to be a music artist so I can be like my uncle too people all over the world so when I die 80 plus people will come to my burial.
Dante Luca Scholarship
I've impacted a Hispanic kid life in elementary school it was during lunch I over heard him talking about he needed 10 dollars and he was very passionate, about needing it I had 20 dollars in my pocket that day because my father gave me it for lunch money.
And he gave me a mouthful on the way to school to not loose it or give it too anybody else, as I went to asking him why he needed 10 dollars I thought it was for lunch money but it was different he needed the money cause his mom needed it for the electricity bill and he wanted to contribute cause his mother was stressed.
And Internaly I was thinking should I give it to him because I'd get into a lot of trouble with my father if I gave my lunch money to him, but he said I only need 10 dollars I said you can have it he had a surprise look in his face and he said I only need 10, dollars but I said you can have the 20 dollars then he asked for a hug and we huged and I left lunch with no food then I went home.
When I came home I almost got beat by dad cause the school called and said he needs to pay for lunch and then he asked what did I do with the money, I lied and said I lost it and he was so enraged that he lost it but hopefully he calmed down and didn't beat me, the next day the same kid came up to me and said thank you for the money yesterday with biggest smile and he told me that his mother was able to pay the electrical bill.
