Throughout high school, I have focused on both my academic achievements and giving back to my community. In my community, I have been involved in volunteering through school events and local service projects. I am a part of the Hispanic Debutant Association of Fort Worth, and in this program, we volunteer at local events regarding the Hispanic community. In school, I am a member of the National Honor Society, where we assist with school projects and help tutor our classmates. Every Saturday, I go to my local church to assist them with whatever event it may be that day. Whether helping organize donation drives or participating in community clean-ups, I try to lead by example and contribute wherever I can. These experiences have helped me develop responsibility and strong communication skills. As I prepare to enter higher education, I face financial challenges that make scholarships and any financial assistance essential. My family works hard to provide for us, but the cost for housing, tuition, and books creates a financial burden. My parents never attended college, and one of the reasons for that was the tuition cost. I want to break the cycle and be the first in my family to attend college, but with this burden, I may not be able to complete this. Receiving financial support would allow me to focus on my studies, reduce stress on my family, and allow me to engage in campus opportunities without the constant worry of financial strain. Keeping children and the youth safe both in person and online is very important to me. In my community, I always find ways to promote kindness and inclusion. If I witness any sort of bullying, I always speak up and tell an adult near me. For one of my high school classes, we go to the elementary schools to help teachers and observe their teaching methods. Every time I go, I always encourage the students to be respectful to their peers and teachers. Recently, my class had an activity where each group made posters about being kind and respectful to one another. Online, I practice and promote responsible digital behavior. I avoid sharing harmful content and remind my friends to always think before posting something. By modeling positive behavior and standing against bullying in person and online, I aim to be a role model for younger generations and help to create a safer and more supportive environment for everyone.
