Hi, I am a current junior in high school who is interested in pursuing medicine. In middle school, I became captivated by the life-changing impact of heart diseases around the world. While being drawn to cardiology, I realized that I wanted a career that would allow me to perform hands-on technical skills, do more than just diagnosing patients, and directly work with children. This sparked my ambition to become a pediatric cardiac surgeon. I started participating in medical programs and my first program at my local hospital taught me that medicine is more than just learning about the human body and obtaining a high title. I learned that in medicine, we learn to care for the body, but the heart of care is rooted in empathy. I realized that empathy is more than just a personality trait I have; it's my greatest gift and a profound responsibility. It has become more than just a feeling; it is a commitment to understand and support others through their darkest moments. I felt this connection deeply through my experience in the program as I explored different medical units. Ever since, I continued to look for opportunities that would allow me to extend my knowledge into medicine. Aside from my passion for medicine, I love to go out and hangout with my friends. I also enjoy reading books and playing volleyball. Although I am always working to earn money, I try to do the things I love most in my free time!
