Hello my name is Ethan,
I'm an artist, at least as in aspiration but as a person I believe I'm the kind who wants to make it through monotony and be present in the moment, alive and devoid of apathy. I want to tell stories through animation. Stories that I thought were just for myself but, as time goes on maybe to uplift others as well, hopefully towards truth for why we are here and maybe even help those with struggles similar to mine. Anyways, thank you for reading this. I appreciate it.

When it comes to education I believe striving for any opportunity to further that goal is paramount. With this scholarship it will help me on my way to hopefully helping others through the use of art, connection, and community.
To start, let's get out in the open air and do what I want to do with this opportunity. I want to create stories, animated stories that both show creative avenues for myself and others and to help bring people together. To elaborate, I mean this. Fantasies, Sci-Fi, Action, Slice of life, you name it I want to delve into these types of stories. However, from this dream I want to reveal Human experience and more importantly, Human need. At the outset I want people to enjoy my work even if it's only surface level but, maybe for those who look a little deeper can instead find a conversation. A conversation about how we are as a race in all aspects, and how we should strive for a greater purpose than ourselves. In many ways I want to use my art to show this purpose can be achieved even when faced with persecution, confusion, apathy, and differing worldview, and of course shared experiences.
Some of this want for helping other springs from my time in Boy-Scouts. When I was in highschool, I was in the midst of my boy scouts “Eagle Scout Project” the purpose of which was to demonstrate leadership to the community. Of which, mine was to build walkways to our local retiree home. This said elderly home was surrounded only by parking lots and concrete avenues but, in its location a nice grassy null overcome with wild plants and uneven ground laid. The overseer of the home and I recognized the need for a path for the home’s members to walk: and so the project began. Over the course of a few short months I planned, outreached, and incited help for the project both from other scouts and community members.
There were times however where it was unrecognizable that the end result would help. That lack of assurance that everything would work out; if all that time had been wasted, or if any one of those moving components of workers, materials, or time would be enough. But, despite worries, I and those who wanted to help/support the project stuck to the plan and eventually after 3 days of work, after months of planning on a path a yard and a half in width, 5 inches deep in the earth, and over 95 feet in length we completed the path. From this project I learned that many worldly worries and issues could be solved with continuous effort and reliance on others. Because of this experience I only thought it would be the logical next step to spread that Ideal, that feeling of fellowship through my love of art: so that my art may provide comfort and communal aspiration for people no matter how few or large the number.
With this scholarship I would use it towards my housing so that I may be close to my college for classes. With this opportunity I could further my goal to express my creativity and bring people together hopefully for the better.

Hello,
In many ways I'd think that I would want to help people on a personal level even if it's just to help a small few. When it comes to what I want to do, I want to use art to reach people and bring them up along with everyone. That no stone of humanity goes unturned; that every face of a person can be for a better purpose and within reach.
What I mean is this, I want to create and animate stories. Fantasies, Sci-Fi, Action, Slice of life, you name it.
Now while I want to make art for my own sake, I also want to use it to help others. I believe In using art to create the ideal of a “generous reality” that a responsible and purposeful member of the community should be equipped with the mindset of one. Now this mindset is one that is void: void of appearance or heroism. Every person should hold the prospect that service to one another of your community should be a second hand thought, acted out without hesitation and peripheral attention. I believe I could use art to enact these qualities to hopefully push people to a more fellowship minded reality.
See as a plan I want to help people from any background with more internal issues and curiosities. In terms of art I want to have every animated story of mine cater to different types of people. Inspired by their different wants and special talents and even by their grey nuances, moral duplicity and even by their failures. How these highs and lows are not without purpose for growth and how to use all of it for a greater canvas of life even if we are too tunnel vision to see it in its full. I want my art to be a catalyst for making an example of how to treat your fellow man, and even how to have grace on others. Maybe in some ways start this momentum; how every person can reach out in the same way over and over again until Human decency and a strive for never ending communal growth is the reality of wherever you are. If I were to be accepted for this scholarship
I would use this scholarship towards my tuition so that I may continue my studies. As some of my current goals are to focus on art/art education; and having less want for financial issues would always help that goal.
In all, I believe that with the life and education gifted to me I can use my living and well-garnerd tools of creativity, reasoning, and fellowship to make art that speaks truth to people and community and hopefully leave them with a plan on how to find purpose and run towards it together.

To be a member of the community for its sole betterment I believe, such things should be acted out in spite of pride and with a recognition of a community's need no matter the scale. That every one should take part in a “gracious reality” devoid of self service and site for community help no matter where it lies.
Before I go on I think it would do good to talk about what community service is not, and how to recognize false fellowship. When it comes to helping your fellow man or having a plan to grow the community there's always going to be a nagging sense of pride entwined with personal venture. That behind every kind deed is a wanting to be seen for personal glorification. However, I believe this is wrong as it alludes to seeing service to the community as if it were a troublesome task, or a to do list of "good deeds for the day" where it is then shelved: never attempted outside the gaze of being a publicly self appointed saint. This creates a figment of monument and grandeur of simply reaching those around you to help. Even with the most minor of actions as asking if someone is ok and needs help.
This is where I get into my first point: that community and being an aspiring member of it is to recognize the small yet lasting projects needed. When I was in highschool, I was in the midst of my boy scouts “Eagle Scout Project” the purpose of which was to demonstrate leadership to the community. Of which, mine was to build walkways to our local retiree home. This said elderly home was surrounded only by parking lots and main street but, in its location a nice grassy null overcame with wild plants and uneven ground laid. The overseer of the home and I recognized the need for a path for the home’s members to walk; and so the project began. Over the course of a few short months I planned, outreached, and incited help for the project; a small path a yard and a half in width, 5 inches deep in the earth, and over 95 feet in length we completed the path. From this project I learned that while this path may not be possible only those of this retiree home such issues did not matter. Because it provides comfort for the people no matter how few the number.
Next point would be around the idea of a “generous reality” that a responsible and purposeful member of the community should be equipped with the mindset of one. Now this mindset is one that is void: void of appearance or heroism. Every person should hold the prospect that service to one another of your community should be a second hand thought, acted out without hesitation and peripheral attention.
Now I guess all is left to say what I will do for the community right? Well from what I've stated I want to use art and its qualities to display community both in its outward and internal needs. Through art I can help show underlying issues and a plan on how to fix them in hopes that others are willing to listen to such aspirations and help too.
