    3LAU "Everything" Scholarship
Everything, all that relates or exists. In brief, one can say that something or someone is the essence of one’s existence. For some, it’s family, friends, even their pets. Although I can see and understand people who agree with such, it’s not for me. I can’t say that I'm not grateful for the wisdom, love, and caring spirit of my family—that would be harsh of me. I relate to the meaning of life—the purpose by which I have filled plenty in existence. God, He is my source of existence and relative to all things. By no means am I trying to convert anyone, but rather demonstrate how He has filled everything in my life. When it is nighttime and everyone is at home sleeping, my mind escapes and whirls in a loom of worry, anxiety, and doubt. No one to call, no one to talk to, no one to trust—but Him. He’s always available and willing to listen to me. Without prejudice, I feel his presence in a shiver of spirit speaking to me, “I am here”. Through him, I can enjoy my family, friends, and all the opportunities that have blessed my life. It was only a year ago that I fully understood that through the challenging times I can still trust Him and believe that nothing is forever. At my lowest point, when my parents were divorcing and my sister was in her realm, I wouldn’t feel like I was here—I was in an endless dream with no light. It was that moment that I realized that people can’t wake you up—they have their battles to fight. Yet, in this never-ending dream, I was awoken. This strong urge to question life, death, good, bad, purpose—they all derived from Him. Of course, some days are still hard but it is heartwarming to feel you’re loved, cared about, and guided. It’s a source of detachment from what we claim is ours. Sometimes we make decisions for what this world expects us to do, we live our lives for others— that’s when we feel lost. We don’t find meaning or purpose, at least that’s how I felt. My everything was able to make me feel like anything that I did with pure intentions and passion was valid—no prejudice involved.
