I am a graduate of the University of Missouri with a bachelor’s degree in meteorology and am currently pursuing an accelerated master’s degree focused on improving public response to severe weather. My passion for weather began in elementary school and has grown into a commitment to helping communities stay safe through clear, effective communication. My graduate research interests focus on understanding how the public interprets severe weather warnings, particularly terminology used in PDS tornado warnings and Tornado Emergencies, and how that understanding may influence protective action. I currently serve as a Meteorology Tutor, Campus Weather Forecast Mentor, and Career Specialist at the Mizzou Career Center, roles that have strengthened my communication, leadership, teaching, and outreach skills. I am also involved in Phi Mu, the Mizzou Meteorology Club, and Women in Meteorology. After completing my master’s degree, I aspire to work as a forecaster for the National Weather Service, where I hope to combine my scientific training with my dedication to public service to improve weather communication and make a meaningful impact on community safety.
