I am an ambitious and dedicated student pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration with an intended minor in Public Policy at the University of Michigan. My academic journey reflects my unwavering commitment to hard work and overcoming obstacles.
I thrive on problem-solving and collaboration with diverse groups, aspiring to merge business and policy for positive societal change. My passion lies in advocating for those facing unequal opportunities, evident in my role as an Accessibility and Affordability Policy Advisor for U-M's Central Student Government.
Believing in continuous learning, I see every experience as a chance to grow. With scholarships, I aim to support my education and pursue enriching opportunities for personal and professional growth.
In summary, I am a determined and enthusiastic student at the University of Michigan, striving to create a more equitable world by bridging the gap between business and policy. A scholarship will enable me to achieve my academic goals and make a positive impact on others' lives.
Due to my background, I currently juggle 5 jobs and work full time all while maintaining a maxed out educational course load. Oftentimes, I have had feelings of anxiety and hopelessness, yet I am determined to keep pursuing my educational and professional goals.

TEAM ROX Scholarship
Throughout my academic and personal journey, I have developed a deep passion for helping others reach their full potential. Coming from a low-income, single-parent background, I have witnessed firsthand the challenges that individuals face when they lack the resources or opportunities to succeed. These experiences have driven me to not only work hard for my own success but to actively support and empower others along the way.
One key way I’ve worked to help others be their best is through leadership roles at the University of Michigan. As a BBA junior and Pell Grant recipient, I understand the barriers that many students face in accessing the resources they need. In student government, I led initiatives such as a free textbook program, which provided critical resources to students who otherwise may have struggled to afford their textbooks. By managing a $1.3M operating budget, I was able to allocate funds to programs, such as calculator and cap and gown drives, that directly supported students in need, ensuring that those from lower-income backgrounds had an equal opportunity to succeed academically.
In addition to financial support, I have worked tirelessly to make sure that students have access to services that improve their quality of life. I coordinated efforts for U-M Adaptive Sports and the campus food pantry, organizing events that reached over 1,000 students. These programs, which supported students with disabilities and those facing food insecurity, allowed me to ensure that all students had access to the tools and support they needed to thrive both inside and outside the classroom.
My passion for helping others be their best is also informed by my personal life. Growing up with an intellectually disabled brother has shaped my understanding of accessibility and inclusion. I have seen how small changes in environment and support can make a world of difference, which has only deepened my commitment to ensuring that every individual has the opportunity to succeed, regardless of their background or abilities.
Through these experiences, I have not only honed my leadership, organizational, and communication skills but also learned the importance of empathy, patience, and adaptability. I am passionate about continuing to support others and to empower those around me to reach their full potential. Helping others is not just a skill I have developed; it is a purpose that I am committed to pursuing every day in both my personal and professional life.
This scholarship will allow me to further my education and continue using my skills and passion to help others, creating positive change both at the University of Michigan and beyond.
