Life is not easy. It’s not all rainbows and sunshine like movies and books make it out to be. It’s hard to keep going when everything around you feels as if it’s fading away into nothingness. There will always be good times, just as there will always be bad times that come our way. Even so, no matter what, “difficult roads often lead to beautiful destinations.” This quote has saved me time after time when I feel like the world is against me. My life has never been easy, nor will it get any easier. All you need to remember is that the place you are trying to reach will be everything you hoped for and more. You just have to get there, fight to be there. The road ahead may difficult but is not impossible. Once you reach the end, the hard work it took to get there will pay off. This quote, in particular, means a lot to me because it is a constant reminder that even if it does not make sense now why we go through the things we go through, it will make sense when we reach the end of our journey. All those things we thought would be the end of the world if they happened, that person we had to lose to gain another, a problem we thought would be the death of us, and so much more. Everything we go through in life serves a purpose, and there is a reason why we go through it. We may not see it just yet, but they are the things that make life what it is. No one can appreciate the good until they have gone through the bad because then the good would not be as great as it is or could be. I have had to fight many battles on my own and climb up that steep road to get to the places I want to be. I know I will never be able to make it easier, but I can at least learn to accept the fact that there is something great waiting for me on the other side. I will continue to walk until I get to where I want to be, wherever that road may lead. It may not be fun, but it will be worth it. “Difficult roads often lead to beautiful destinations,” and I know there are beautiful places ahead waiting for me.
