My passion for speech-language pathology emerged from this foundation. Witnessing family members and friends struggle with language barriers, I became acutely aware of the challenges faced by individuals with communication disorders. These experiences ignited a desire to help others overcome such barriers, fostering inclusion and equality in communication. Pursuing a BA in Public Health Policy further shaped my understanding of health disparities and the importance of accessible healthcare. This academic background provided me with a broader perspective on the systemic issues that affect marginalized communities, including those with speech and language difficulties. It reinforced my commitment to advocating for better resources and support systems for individuals with communication disorders. My Filipino identity has been instrumental in defining my core purpose.
