When I think about the field of nursing, I feel a great sense of unity and growth toward the future. We, as a society, were recently separated from one another by the horrible pandemic of Covid. A lot of people, such as nurses and healthcare professionals in particular were pushed to the limit and passed it to the breaking point.
Watching all of the struggle and strife the nurses underwent motivated me to want to become a nurse more than ever. I watched the workforce slowly band together more and more each day. This showed me hope that nurses were a united front and determined to beat Covid. The example that nurses were setting with their passion to fight and win against this disease was unprecedented. This inspired the whole world to come together and learn proper hand hygiene, mask application and social distancing. A lot of people through the pandemic were socially isolated and it is abundantly clear that we as a society are still struggling to pick up the pieces.
However, I knew I needed to be a part of this metamorphosis that healthcare was and still is undergoing. It was eye-opening, to say the least, to watch our heroes in scrubs fight this disease. My hope then and now is to become a registered nurse to do what these brave people did and do every single day. I want to help unify people by teaching health strategies and caring for the sick. I ultimately want to become a nursing instructor to help other people who are inspired to become a nurse. I want to cultivate an environment of unity and quality healthcare for future generations. It is easier said than done but society as a whole is heading in a better direction. I hope that healthcare will continue to evolve for the better. It is most important for me to become a nurse to demonstrate this in my career and help others to achieve quality standards of practice in their own daily lives.
In conclusion, I hope to become a nurse to help others and myself grow toward a healthier today and tomorrow. It is important to demonstrate healthier practices to prevent or lessen any diseases in the future. The work that all of healthcare has put into learning about Covid is unprecedented. I hope to contribute as a nurse to all the hard work that many nurses have done to get us to where we are today.
