I have many goals in life. However, many of my goals are compounding and require the completion of one to begin the other. Right now, my goal is to become a software developer and I've completed my associates degree thus far. In the near future, I'll be completing a technical boot camp to get a good jump start and entry into a career placement program. From there I hope to achieve greater things and do better things.
I have a strong passion for video games and I strive to be good enough in my career field to make a living doing just that. Many of my other passions include things such as supporting/teaching children with special needs, such as my sister Morgan who has Down Syndrome. She's taught me ambition, drive, confidence and so much more. Morgan is a constant reminder to me everyday to keep my chin up and show the world that I can do anything I set my mind to.
As a student, I demonstrate a strong passion and dedication to my field of study. I am highly motivated, organized, and have a proven track record of academic excellence. I have consistently achieved top grades in my classes and have actively sought out opportunities to expand my knowledge and skills. I have also involved myself in extracurricular activities over the years, such as clubs and volunteer work, which have helped me develop leadership and communication skills. I believe that my combination of academic achievement, extracurricular involvement, and strong work ethic make me a great candidate for many things.

Reflecting on my life thus far, I believe that my greatest achievement to date is overcoming my struggles with mental health and finding the courage to seek help and embark on a journey of healing and self-discovery. This experience has taught me invaluable lessons about resilience, self-compassion, and the power of perseverance in the face of adversity.
For much of my life, I grappled silently with the weight of my own mind, battling anxiety, depression, and other mental health challenges that threatened to consume me. I felt lost, alone, and unsure of how to break free from the suffocating grip of my own thoughts and emotions. But deep down, I knew that I couldn't continue to suffer in silence, and I made the courageous decision to reach out for help.
Seeking therapy was one of the most difficult and yet empowering decisions I've ever made. It required me to confront my deepest fears and insecurities, to open up about the things I had kept hidden for so long, and to embark on a journey of self-exploration and healing. It wasn't easy, and there were many setbacks along the way, but with each session, I felt myself growing stronger, more resilient, and more capable of facing life's challenges head-on.
Through therapy, I learned to recognize and challenge the negative thought patterns and beliefs that had been holding me back for so long. I discovered the power of mindfulness, self-care, and self-compassion in nurturing my mental and emotional well-being. And most importantly, I found the courage to embrace my own vulnerabilities and imperfections, recognizing them not as weaknesses but as sources of strength and resilience.
This experience taught me that true strength lies not in the absence of struggle but in the willingness to confront and overcome adversity. It showed me that vulnerability is not a sign of weakness but a pathway to healing and growth. And it reminded me that I am capable of far more than I ever imagined, that I have the resilience, courage, and inner strength to overcome any obstacle that stands in my way.
Looking to the future, my hope is to continue on this journey of self-discovery and personal growth, to build upon the foundation of resilience and self-compassion that I've cultivated through my experiences with mental health. I aspire to live a life that is guided by authenticity, purpose, and compassion for myself and others.
One of my goals is to become a mental health advocate and educator, using my own experiences to help others who are struggling with similar challenges. Whether through writing, public speaking, or community outreach, I want to raise awareness about the importance of mental health and reduce the stigma surrounding mental illness. I want to create a world where everyone feels empowered to seek help and support when they need it, and where no one suffers in silence.
In addition, I hope to continue pursuing my passions and interests, whether it's through my career, my hobbies, or my relationships. I want to live a life that is rich in meaning and fulfillment, where I'm able to make a positive impact in the world and leave a lasting legacy of love and compassion.
Ultimately, my greatest achievement to date has been finding the courage to confront my struggles with mental health and embark on a journey of healing and self-discovery. This experience has taught me invaluable lessons about resilience, self-compassion, and the power of perseverance in the face of adversity. And as I look to the future, my hope is to continue on this journey, living a life that is guided by authenticity, purpose, and compassion for myself and others.
“The Office” Obsessed! Fan Scholarship
When it comes to "The Office," it's hard to pick just one character to resonate with—they're all so uniquely flawed and relatable in their own ways. But if I had to choose, I'd say I resonate most with Pam Beesly.
Pam's journey throughout the series—from a shy receptionist with unfulfilled dreams to a confident and assertive woman pursuing her passions—strikes a chord with me. Like Pam, I've experienced moments of self-doubt and uncertainty in my career, but I've also found the courage to pursue my ambitions and stand up for myself.
One of the aspects of Pam's character that resonates with me is her quiet strength and resilience. Despite facing setbacks and challenges in her personal and professional life, she never loses sight of her dreams or her sense of self-worth. Her journey serves as a reminder that it's never too late to pursue your passions and take control of your own destiny.
Pam's sense of humor also aligns closely with mine. She has a dry wit and a sharp sense of observation that often manifests in subtle, understated humor. Whether she's exchanging banter with Jim or rolling her eyes at Michael's antics, Pam's comedic timing and deadpan delivery never fail to bring a smile to my face.
Moreover, Pam's evolution from a passive observer to an active participant in the office dynamic reflects my own growth and development in the workplace. Like Pam, I've learned the importance of speaking up for myself, setting boundaries, and asserting my worth in professional settings. Her journey has inspired me to embrace my voice and advocate for myself with confidence and conviction.
Watching "The Office" has undoubtedly shaped my sense of humor and my perspective on workplace dynamics. The show's mockumentary format allows for a unique blend of humor that derives from the characters' interactions with the camera crew as much as it does from their interactions with each other. This style of humor has influenced my own comedic sensibilities, encouraging me to find humor in the mundane and to appreciate the absurdities of everyday life.
Additionally, "The Office" has provided valuable insights into the intricacies of workplace relationships and dynamics. Through the lens of Dunder Mifflin, the show explores themes of ambition, loyalty, friendship, and the pursuit of happiness in the face of corporate absurdity. Characters like Michael Scott, Dwight Schrute, and Jim Halpert serve as archetypes of different workplace personas, each offering a unique perspective on the challenges and joys of working in a traditional office environment.
In conclusion, Pam Beesly's journey and character resonate deeply with me, reflecting my own experiences and growth in the workplace. Her quiet strength, dry wit, and unwavering determination serve as a source of inspiration and encouragement, reminding me to embrace my voice, pursue my passions, and find humor in the everyday absurdities of office life. "The Office" has not only shaped my sense of humor but has also provided valuable insights into workplace dynamics, relationships, and the importance of staying true to oneself in the face of adversity.
Jennifer Gephart Memorial Working Mothers Scholarship
My experiences as a caregiver for my little sister with Down syndrome have been a profound journey, one that has not only presented significant challenges but has also shaped the very core of my being and influenced the trajectory of my career aspirations. From the earliest moments of my childhood, I have been intimately involved in her care, serving as not only a sibling but also a steadfast advocate and support system.
The challenges inherent in balancing the responsibilities of caregiving with the demands of pursuing a career have been omnipresent throughout my life. Each day brings with it a delicate balancing act, wherein I must navigate the intricacies of professional obligations alongside the complexities of ensuring my sister's well-being and happiness. Whether it be attending medical appointments, advocating for her needs within educational settings, or simply providing emotional support, the role of caregiver requires an unwavering commitment and a willingness to adapt and prioritize in the face of ever-changing circumstances.
Emotionally, the journey of caregiving has been both deeply rewarding and undeniably challenging. Witnessing my sister's achievements and milestones has brought immeasurable joy and pride, serving as a constant reminder of the resilience of the human spirit. However, there have also been moments of profound sadness and frustration, as I grapple with the inherent injustices and obstacles that individuals with disabilities often face in our society. It is a journey defined by a spectrum of emotions, ranging from profound love and compassion to moments of overwhelming despair, yet through it all, there remains an unwavering sense of dedication and devotion to my sister's well-being.
Practically, managing the responsibilities of caregiving alongside the pursuit of a career requires a high degree of organization, resourcefulness, and adaptability. Each day presents a new set of challenges and obstacles to overcome, from coordinating schedules and arranging for alternative care to ensuring that my sister's unique needs are met in every aspect of her life. It is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit that, despite the myriad challenges that we face, we are able to persevere and thrive in the face of adversity.
Despite the inherent challenges of caregiving, my experiences have served as a catalyst for personal growth and self-discovery, shaping the very core of my identity and influencing the trajectory of my career aspirations. Witnessing firsthand the gaps in support and resources available to individuals with disabilities and their families has ignited within me a passion for advocacy and social change. It is a passion born out of necessity, fueled by a deep-seated desire to create a more inclusive and equitable society for all individuals, regardless of ability.
As I chart my career path, I am driven by a sense of purpose and a commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of others. Whether it be through policy advocacy, community outreach, or direct service provision, I am determined to leverage my skills and resources to create positive change in the world around me. My experiences as a caregiver have not only shaped my career goals but have also instilled within me a profound sense of empathy, compassion, and a relentless dedication to serving others.
Nintendo Super Fan Scholarship
I remember those nights vividly, when the room was filled with laughter, excitement, and the sound of controllers clicking away. Playing Nintendo games with friends and family was always a highlight of my childhood. But there was one game that stood out above the rest, one that always brought out the competitive spirit in all of us: Mario Kart.
There was something magical about Mario Kart, especially in co-op mode. It wasn't just about racing; it was about the camaraderie, the friendly rivalries, and the unforgettable moments that we shared together.
I think Mario Kart became my favorite game to play in co-op mode because it was incredibly accessible yet endlessly entertaining. Anyone could pick up a controller and join in the fun, regardless of their gaming experience. Plus, the thrill of speeding through colorful tracks, launching shells at opponents, and strategically using power-ups made every race feel like an epic adventure.
One particular multiplayer session stands out in my memory. It was a rainy Saturday afternoon, and a few friends had come over for a gaming marathon. We decided to boot up Mario Kart and dive into some intense races. As usual, the competition was fierce, with each of us vying for first place.
In one race, we were all neck and neck as we approached the final lap. I was in the lead, but my heart was pounding with adrenaline as I knew any slip-up could cost me the race. Just as I rounded a corner, my friend unleashed a perfectly timed blue shell, sending me flying into chaos. I watched helplessly as my opponents zoomed past me, but then, out of nowhere, another friend activated a lightning bolt power-up, shrinking everyone on the track, including the player who had launched the blue shell. It was a stroke of luck that gave me the opportunity to regain my lead and cross the finish line in first place.
The room erupted with cheers and laughter as we high-fived and congratulated each other on an epic race. That moment encapsulated everything I loved about playing Mario Kart with friends: the thrill of competition, the unpredictable twists and turns, and most importantly, the bonds we formed through shared experiences and unforgettable memories. Mario Kart wasn't just a game to us; it was a gateway to unforgettable adventures and lifelong friendships.
Elevate Women in Technology Scholarship
One technology that truly inspires me is the development of affordable renewable energy solutions, particularly solar power. As someone who deeply cares about the environment and our collective future, seeing the advancements in solar technology and its increasing accessibility fills me with hope.
Imagine a world where we no longer rely on fossil fuels for our energy needs. Instead, we harness the power of the sun, a virtually limitless source of energy that doesn't produce harmful emissions or contribute to climate change. Solar panels are now more efficient and cost-effective than ever before, making it possible for individuals, communities, and even entire countries to transition to clean energy.
The potential impact of widespread adoption of solar power is immense. It could significantly reduce our carbon footprint, slow down climate change, and improve air quality, particularly in areas heavily affected by pollution. Moreover, the decentralization of energy production through solar panels means that communities can become more self-sufficient and resilient, especially in regions with unreliable or non-existent access to traditional energy sources.
One inspiring example of how solar power is making a difference is in rural areas of developing countries. In many places, access to electricity is limited or non-existent, which can hinder economic development, education, and healthcare. Solar microgrids are changing this by providing clean and affordable energy to these communities, empowering them to improve their quality of life and build a sustainable future.
The transformative potential of solar power is clear, and it gives me hope that we can overcome some of the biggest challenges facing our planet. By embracing technologies like solar power and continuing to innovate, we can create a brighter and more sustainable future for generations to come.
