I am a current Dual Enrollment, High School Senior, who is also in the Emory and Henry: Healthcare Excellence Academy Lab School. I began taking college courses as a sophomore in High School to prepare for college. Through my Governor's school program, I have also accumulated hours of shadowing experiences in multi-disciplinary fields in the medical hospital, gained hands-on experiences, and been able to draw knowledge from medical professionals. I currently have a weighted GPA of 4.19 and a College GPA of 4.0. I will be graduating from High School in Spring 2026. Next, I will be double-majoring in Biology: Pre-Med and Forensic Science to prepare for Med School, to become a Forensic Pathologist.
In addition to working hard academically, I am also a multi-sport athlete and value giving back to my community. I volunteer with the Backpack Program. I also volunteer with the local Little League organization and operate fundraising in my area for St Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
I have been accepted to Bluefield University and accepted into my program of study. I have been dedicated to working hard in all aspects of my life to assist with financial obligations for college. I was blessed to receive a scholarship to play Softball; however, it does not cover all of my financial obligations, and I am seeking assistance with compensating the remaining out-of-pocket expenses. I hope to reduce the cost of my undergraduate as much as possible to continue to be able to afford the future expenses of Medical School, thereafter, to reach my dreams and future aspirations.

Life was supposed to be different. I was eight years old, on a beach vacation, when I tragically lost my grandfather. At just 59, and in all respects healthy, he fell critically ill and died within hours. His passing was a mystery to us all, without any pre-existing conditions to make sense of what had happened. Medical providers expressed condolences that they could not save him, had no answers, and left my family without closure or comprehension. For days, my young body shook, struggling to digest the incomprehensible tragedy. The impact of this death changed my whole trajectory. It was then that I learned about the role of a medical examiner. This personal experience introduced me to the profession and instantly ignited a passion for a career dedicated to helping others find peace and justice, with an insurmountable impact on those in need.
Providing clear, compassionate explanations can significantly aid a family's understanding and ability to process their loss. Having experienced the profound impact of answers on my own family’s healing process, I am committed to offering that same clarity to others. Becoming a medical examiner would grant me the gift of providing a voice for the voiceless and helping people find comfort in tragedy. While catastrophe sparked my initial discovery, the profession has evolved into a lifelong passion and a personal priority.
To achieve my goal of becoming a medical examiner, I have created a specific 13-year academic roadmap. I am an inaugural student of the Healthcare Excellence Academy Lab School. I have taken college-level courses and completed shadowing and observations in local hospitals. I gained an amazing start to my education and a springboard into achievement at an earlier pace, with a healthcare focus. These hands-on experiences have solidified my career desires, allowed me to fellowship with healthcare professionals for mentoring, and given me confidence that I can achieve my plan with excellence. I am on track to graduate high school with both my Advanced High School diploma and an Associate of Science in General Studies. With early acceptance into the Biology - Pre-Med program at Bluefield University, and a double-major in Forensics. After completing my undergrad, I will attend medical school, on my way to be a Forensic Pathologist - Medical examiner. While I acknowledge this path is challenging and rigorous, I am excited and determined to take it on.
Throughout my schooling, I have worked hard and championed for myself as a student with a Specific Learning Disability (SLD). I became a leader, advocating for my placement in non-inclusion classes. I ensured and advised that I had the same opportunity for honors classes, dual enrollment, and advanced achievement as everyone else. My disability has never been an excuse or a crutch; instead, I have been empowered by my differences.
While dedication to my studies has been a top priority, I am also a multisport student-athlete and a volunteer for multiple community outreach organizations. The experiences I hold as a strong, intelligent, and empowered female bring both advocacy and a unique perspective to my future career. This award would be invaluable to my education, helping me secure a position in a traditionally male-dominated field and empowering others with special needs to achieve hard things.
As I prepare for this new chapter, I carry the lessons of resilience and the foundation set by my family here and in heaven. I am ready to work, to serve, and to lead with a steadfast and urgent footing. Your support would help me bring light to the darkness for those I serve, and those who are inspired by my lead.
