Emma Stover

Bio

One of my main goals is to get my master's degree in psychology to become a counselor. I know this career would be very satisfying because the focus of this job is helping people. A few years back, my mom signed us up for a mother/daughter organization, the National Charity League, which provides many opportunities to volunteer at different non-profit organizations around the community. At first, I was bummed because I didn't want to spend what little free time I had volunteering. However, when we started going out into the community and meeting so many amazing people that we were getting to help; my attitude quickly changed. I loved the lessons learned and relationships built from volunteering at the AR Food Bank, collecting and donating books for children to read during the summer, making baskets for the residents of an elderly community, and so many more. I could go on and on about all the valuable lessons my mom and I learned and what a fantastic experience we had. One of the most important lessons is realizing I really love helping others. This led me to look into different career paths mostly focused on helping people. I chose the path of psychology, which focuses on people's mental health, which is just as important as physical health. I know I'm a great candidate, even though my ACT score wasn't the best, but I work hard and I care a lot. I would appreciate your consideration and thank you for taking the time to read my bio.
