I read books multiple times a week.
My life goal is to make a difference in peoples lives. When I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 10, I knew that I had to be the voice of people who could not advocate for themselves. I started fundraising and attending walks for JDRF. That lead to my love for helping others. I then started volunteering for the Special Olympics. When I got to college I knew I had to be apart of something so special. I joined Zeta Tau Alpha, which is a sorority whose philanthropy is breast cancer awareness and education. I have attended so many fundraisers, walks, fashion shows, and events that help raise money for such a great cause. My sophomore year of college I knew the medical field was my calling. I competed in bodybuilding and found a love for nutrition. I got my nutrition certification through the National Academy of Sports Medicine and started coaching. My heart is so full when helping others I did not stop there. I then attended Phlebotomy school my junior year of college while pursuing my degree in Political Science. I work full time in a hospital while still being a full time student for political science and I love it so much. I plan on going back to school to study nursing or become a registered dietitian. The passion I have for being a warm face for those who need it most is something I cherish.
