Hi there! My name is Emma Musgrave. I just graduated Odess High School, Odessa, Missouri in May (2024). I am currently enrolled in MSSU to study for an undergraduate degree in Entrepreneurship.
While in college I hope to take a variety of courses to expand my knowledge in several fields. By doing this I hope to pick up skills and strategies that will further my chances of success in the future.
Success for me will look like wealth, and minimal debt as I launch and run my businesses. Of which, include an rv park in the mountains, an outdoor venue in the mountains, a coffee shop, and a greenhouse.
I'm very passionate in my hopes and dreams for all these, and am excited to further my education, getting even closer to my goals with every step.

Hello! I'm Emma Musgrave, an aspiring entrepreneur. After a long 4 years of high school, I am finally a graduated alumni of Odessa High School. My next destination is Missouri Southern State University, where I'll be studying entrepreneurship! Due to the economy's ever inflating nature, my family and I are struggling to find a way to afford my education. Especially considering the fact my family consists only of myself, my dad, and my paternal grandmother. Any and every bit of money we come up with helps a great deal in my studying for a degree. Not only will going to college serve the purpose of receiving said degree, but it will also kick-start my independence. For all 18 years of my life I grew up in the same home, around the same people and associated myself with the same circle of friends and family. Going away 2 and a half hours to college I'll find that I will have to create a new circle. A circle of people to study with, worship with, and befriend. I'll also have to learn the layout of a new city rather than a small hometown I've known my whole life like the back of my hand. I'll have to find a new walmart, church, favorite restaurant, and other places to recognize with a homey feel. And for the first time in my life, I will have to get a job- one that pays a regular paycheck. While I'm used to working, I'm not used to a typical 9 to 5 schedule, or working with such a variety of people in a single day. I'm used to working with a single client on a large job once in a while. And though the job paid, it did not pay often or consistently. So in all truth, I'm looking forward to landing an occupation- one that'll further teach me self discipline, patience, and people skills. All of which are definitely necessary for my entrepreneurial field I hope to become successful in. This will all be new to me, and difficult at first, but I wholly believe I can do it. With the support of my family and friends, and with the good Lord behind me, I know I'll get to where I dream to be. Be receiving this scholarship, those funds would directly go towards paying for my tuition, required books, and room and board. While I have received some funds so far, it's just not enough yet. Anything and everything helps me get there- helps me live my dream. Thank you for your consideration. God bless.

In a world straying so far from the Lord, any and every little bit of Heavenly influence is crucial in the renewment of Faith in those around us. This is why I plan to incorporate my beliefs into my businesses and spread the Word of God when I come across new people and places.
As of now, I am enrolled at MSSU to study for a degree in entrepreneurship. Once I graduate, my plan is to open one of my businesses as soon as I am able.
I have several businesses I hope to launch and run within my life. These include a coffee shop in a touristy town, an rv park chain within the many mountain ranges in the US, a venue/event space within said mountains, and a greenhouse or even a small farmers market.
As the owner of these businesses, it would be as simple as it is necessary to incorporate a Godly environment in these places.
To be more specific, I will provide a few plans I have in place for each business to incorporate my Christain Faith.
My coffee shop will display verses of the Bible throughout the space, open and close the shop each day with prayer, and donate a percentage of profit to local churches.
The rv park chain, at each location, will be sure to have an on-site church with services available throughout the week as well as Sundays.
The park will also hold fun church events available to a variety of groups- women, men, youth, and will be open to the public, (not just those who stay in the park).
The mountain venue will be prayed over before, during, and after every event held in the location.
The greenhouse/farmers market will also be prayed over every day.
Further, due to studies showing an increase in plant growth success after music being played to plants, Christian music will constantly be played in the space as both worship and to increase success in harvests.
Over the years as I grow closer to God, I will continue to keep an open mind to learning how else I can incorporate my Faith within my entrepreneurial career. Sharing God's Word and spreading his love to others is crucial to the survival of this generation and the next. The world has come so far from Him and it is our duty as Christains to set people back on track- one step at a time.

My little sister was everything to me. We were the best of friends, closer than most siblings. She was funny, intelligent, and always outgoing. She made friends so easily. I envied that of her.
I got to spend 15 great years with her. I will forever cherish the memories we shared. The late night talks, crazy karaoke, movie scene recreations, and wild running imaginations.
I hope to keep those memories alive and honor her as I pursue my education. She would have wanted me to succeed, and I know she is watching over me, rooting for me. My biggest fan.
As I progress through my life I'll be sure to make her happy. I'll do my best at school, be patient and kind with others as I build my career, and build a future that she could be proud of.
It's been several years now since I lost her, but I never go a day without thinking of her. The biggest factor in coping with the loss would have to go to my closest friends, and my family. We held each other up and supported each other throughout the years. Loving each other enough to cover the loss.
We will continue to be there for each other, just as she used to be. We will continue to love and support one another as we progress through life, knowing that she is watching over us. We will meet her again some day. I have made a vow to myself to be the best version of myself for her, and to uphold her image and values and make her proud. I'll do my absolute best to be what she would have wanted me to be.

Big Picture Scholarship
Dear Big Picture Scholarship Committee,
I am writing to express my sincere interest in applying for the Big Picture Scholarship , as advertised on [Bold.Org]. As a dedicated and motivated individual, I believe that my academic achievements and personal experiences align perfectly with the scholarship criteria.
When I came across the essay prompt, "What is the movie that has had the greatest impact on your life and why?" I couldn't help but reflect upon the profound influence that film has had on shaping my perspective and ambitions.
The movie that has had the greatest impact on my life is Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron. This groundbreaking masterpiece not only captivated me with its compelling narrative and stunning visuals, but it also imparted invaluable life lessons that have left an indelible mark on my character and aspirations.
First and foremost, this movie instilled in me a deep sense of perseverance and determination. The protagonist's unwavering resolve, despite facing seemingly insurmountable challenges, served as a powerful reminder that one's dreams can be achieved through sheer dedication and tenacity. This realization has inspired me to overcome adversities throughout my academic journey, propelling me towards achieving excellence in my scholastic pursuits.
Furthermore, this cinematic gem showcased the significance of empathy and compassion. The portrayal of the character's complex emotions and their genuine care for others deeply resonated with me. Witnessing how genuine connections can foster personal growth and understanding, I have also grown in my self.
Moreover, Spirit has heightened my appreciation for art as a medium of expression and storytelling. The exquisite cinematography and skillful direction of the film compelled me to explore various forms of artistic expression, ultimately leading me to discover my passion for photography and cinematography. I have since channeled this creativity into numerous projects, undertaking the role of a student photographer for school events and even participating in local short film competitions.
Conclusively, the movie Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron has undeniably left an indelible impact on my life, igniting my aspirations, nurturing my empathy, and fostering my artistic expression. The profound lessons and experiences derived from this influential film continue to shape my personal growth, inspiring me to strive for excellence in all spheres of my life.
With an unwavering commitment to academic success, a passion for community service, and an appreciation for the arts, I wholeheartedly believe that I exemplify the qualities sought after by the Big Picture Scholarship. It is my fervent hope that you will consider my application favorably, as this scholarship would greatly assist me in pursuing my educational goals and make a positive impact in my community.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Emma Musgrave

My mother has Schizophrenia and Munchausen by Proxy. I grew up wishing that she would get better and that maybe she would love me. It never happened. On more than one occasion my mother nearly killed my sister, my brothers, and myself. So my father took us away from her. And then I had no mother. If the world would just get over its political views and just do the right thing, help people, offer the help at least, then maybe my mom would have gotten better and maybe I could have had a better childhood with a working family. Because everyone is worked up about all the wrong things in the world there are many, many more families out there like mine with no hope for a happy future. It is not fair to those children who only want a family that loves them and cares for them. I hope to help this world fix itself. When I go to college, I will study psychology and get a degree that will allow me to be that change that those families need. To be that help that no one is offered nearly enough. To give those children out there a chance at a happy childhood. It’s the very least I could do to help fix this messed up world.
Big Picture Scholarship
I was four years old when I first watched "Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron". All my life this movie has stuck with me in my heart. Spirit is such a free and wild creature. I like to think of myself as wild and free, too. The movie follows a young Mustang, Spirit, that is stolen away from his herd, befriends a Lacota, falls in love with a paint mare, and is eventually reunited with his herd after a long and difficult journey. Throughout it all, Spirit remains a strong, courageous, honorable leader. Seeing these qualities at such a young age set forth a precedent for how a person should be. This movie taught me to be kind, brave, and strong, and how to be a good leader. I still have these important qualities today, and I do my best to teach others to have them as well. I admire every character, every lesson, and every last scene of this movie. Even the villain of the story taught me how to respect someone you cannot defeat, and to be humble in the end when you lose. The friendship between Spirit and the Lacota boy taught me that you can find friendship in even the most unlikely situations. Spirit's love for Rain, the paint mare, taught me to be selfless and to sacrifice myself for others. The theme of the movie taught me that you will never know just how strong you really are until strong is the only choice that you have to be. The movie took off when Spirit first discovered humans, his curiosity driving him to explore the new creatures. Spirit had to step out of his comfort zone to find out what the humans were about and this is what first exposed me to step out of my comfort zone. By stepping out I have learned new things in life and encourage others to do the same to fully understand the world around them. One of the biggest qualities this movie gave me, I would have to say, is loyalty. Spirit remained loyal to those he loves, at any cost. He would not allow his herd to be discovered by the humans, would not betray his Lakota friend, and would not allow any harm to come to Rain's homeland. Every last piece of this movie raised me into the woman I am today. This movie allowed my eyes to open to the world, exploring every detail of life. Growing up watching this wonderful movie gave me all my most valued qualities of myself: honor, courage, strength, and loyalty. "Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron" has impacted me the most throughout my life, and will continue for the rest of it.

Cat Zingano Overcoming Loss Scholarship
I have lost many people in my family, though all are still alive. For the first 15 years of my life I had a sister. Her name was Allie. She and I were best friends, thick as thieves. Our mother was not part of our life because of how terrible she was and the terrible things she did to my family and friends. Our mother was bipolar and had munchausen by proxy. The bipolar disorder passed onto my sister. She changed as she grew into her teens. And on November 25, 2020, my sister ran away.
My sister left us and brought up nasty claims about my family. She ended up with a ride to her grandparents house, several counties away. They put her in a mental hospital. She then ended up under our mother's roof. Since then, I have not seen, spoken to, or heard of my sister again, save the court issues she brought up.
Since then, as well as losing my sister, my best friend, I began to lose the rest of my family. They began to turn on one another. It sounds like something out of a movie. Years before all this my father helped move my aunt from the Lake of The Ozarks all the way to Oregon. The state. She was supposed to pay my father. She did not. She then preceded to lie about it. She then turned on my father and accused him of using my grandmother's money to take a vacation while he was in Oregon, with my aunts belongings. She lied to everyone and eventually got her sister to believe her. My grandmother knew the truth, though. That's all we really needed, but we still lost my aunts.
They're children aren't much better. My cousin Patrick uses my grandmother for her money and then ignores her calls and refuses to make time to see her when she is in town. His sister Mickayla also uses my grandma for her money. And then she lies to my grandma when my grandma wants to see her and her baby. My cousin Meagan just married a jerk that turned her against her entire family. She banned her own family from even coming to her wedding and will not talk to any of us.
As for my mother's side of the family, I have not seen or spoken to for about 10 or 11 years now. They are all about as crazy as my mother and just as dangerous. Most of them have recently moved and changed their number without a trace. So now, even if I wanted to contact any of them, I can not. This includes two half brothers that I have not seen or heard of since I was 6 years old.
My family has gotten very, very small in the last few years. I have not lost any to death since 2016, but I do not have much of a family left after all our drama. My family is tearing apart and I hope and pray that someday we can fix it. As for now, all I have are my two dogs, my Dad, and my Grandma.
