The one female leader who inspired me the most was Mrs. Stauder, my STEM teacher. She was the most passionate teacher and has a true gift for teaching STEM to students. She changed my opinion of coding, as I originally thought I would hate it. Instead, I ended up spending hours outside of class working on my own coding projects. Her class taught me the basics, but I would often ask her questions outside of class about opportunities in the field of STEM. She also would refer me to websites where I could learn programming languages, and always helped me when I was confused about a concept. Thanks to her help I was able to learn new coding languages and she opened my eyes to the world of possibilities in STEM. Mrs. Stauder spent so many hours mentoring me and she was always so patient and kind with any question I asked or if I needed help. She believed in me and gave me confidence in my capabilities and now I want to become a mentor too. After I finish my bachelor's degree, I plan to pursue mentoring opportunities while simultaneously working on my goal of earning a master’s degree. I hope one day to mentor high school girls to educate them about all the possibilities in the IT field and get them excited to pursue a career in a STEM-related field. I want all young women to grow and reach their potential. I hope that I can inspire and motivate young women. I'm very driven and goal-oriented and I want to share everything that I have learned to stay focused on your goals. Over these past 4 years, I've managed to balance my hobbies, and schoolwork at high school and at the University of Michigan as a dual-enrolled student, job, social life, and family life, though it wasn't always easy. I'm proud to say that I've been able to stay motivated and always look towards the end goal, even when the process of getting there can be difficult. Overall, I’m excited to start this long learning adventure and I can’t wait to see how my life turns out and start helping others. I would be honored to be selected for this scholarship because I have a passion for the computer science field and for helping others. Mrs. Stauder introduced me to the world of programming and coding, and I'm so thankful for her and all things she taught me. Thank you so much for your time and consideration.
    Women in Tech Scholarship
Women in Tech Scholarship Emma Gable I am interested in pursuing a degree in Stem because I have a passion for helping others. I feel that there are so many different things in the world that needs improvement, and we should all find our passion and use it for making the needed changes. For me, my passion is cybersecurity. I plan on earning a Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity at the age of eighteen from the University of Michigan and becoming a computer scientist. So that I can help people and companies in the defense against hacking. I feel that so many people are lured into scams and tricks over the Internet, and this causes considerable grief and loss of money that hurts many each day. I plan to develop new ways to combat these hackers so that all people, especially the elderly, can feel safer and not be targeted by hackers in our world. My chosen career will help me accomplish this because after I graduate from college with my Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, I plan to work as an ethical hacker to find vulnerabilities in code and prevent security breaches. My dream job is to help clients keep their software and hardware protected from hackers. I will use my skills and knowledge to create safety measures that will protect all people and stop hackers. I’m currently working on these goals by watching tech videos and taking online courses on the difficult subject. I’m also learning many different programming languages such as C++ and Python and working as an intern at high school with UTEC. I’m hoping all these activities will significantly help me to achieve my cybersecurity goals and one day work in my field protecting people from scams. After college, I plan to pursue mentoring opportunities while simultaneously working on my goal of earning a Master’s degree. I hope one day to mentor high school girls to educate them about all the possibilities in the IT field and get them excited to pursue a career in a STEM-related field. I want all young women to grow and reach their potential. I hope that I can inspire and motivate young women. I'm proud to say that I've been able to stay motivated and always look towards the end goal, even when the process of getting there can be difficult. I am graduating high school two years early with 27 college credits. Overall, I’m excited to start this long learning adventure and I can’t wait to start helping others. Thank you for this opportunity and for your time and consideration.
