I have chosen the Animal Science field of interest because I have always wanted to see animals flourish in their natural environment. Watching movies like Rio, Spirit, and Homeward Bound always inspired me to do what I can for animals, especially endangered species. I desire to create an impact with wildlife and exotic animals so that they can be released back into the wild or given a good long lasting home if they are unable to be released. I have accomplished this in small ways by working with two different animal sanctuaries that work primarily with wildlife and exotic animals. I have a goal of improving numbers of endangered species whether it is through nursing them back to health or reintroducing animals to the wild. I also plan to create nutritional plans for animals for their separate needs. During my time at both animal sanctuaries I have learned the importance of a good diet for every animal. I also rode horses and learned the different supplements each and every horse gets. I plan to be a source for many clients who are looking for a better diet for their animals whether it is to make them healthier or create an enrichment plan.
