Bio

I am an 18 y/o high school student that was dealt a tough hand in life. I was originally from Chicago until I found an opportunity to move down to Georgia with my best friend to get a better chance of accomplishing my goals in life. Since I moved down here I have gotten the chance to go to one of the best public schools in GA. I have been able to work my way up to be a vice presedent of my school's Ecar club (a smaller break of of my school's TSA club) I have been able to get my GPA from 2.7 to a 3.3 within a year, last but not least I have gotten the chance to live with a amazing family that has now become my second family.

Aircraft Mechanics for Aircraft Mechanics Scholarship
My name is Emmett Williams. I'm an 18 y/o senior in high school, at Denmark high school in Alpharetta GA. My father was a private airline pilot and had been working with planes since the age of 15. My father exposed me to airplanes and jets at a very young age and ever since I experienced that I knew that that is what I wanted to do for a living. I'm on the road to college and shocker, it's expensive. I need help funding my Aviation Science and Maintenance Degree At Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. I chose this school because it is recognized worldwide for its aviation-focused programs. Now for a bit of back story on my life, I did not come from a good place. I was born in Chicago and since I was 15 I have been living there. When I was at the young age of 11 I was exposed to things eleven-year-olds should not be exposed to. I was offered drugs, alcohol, and nicotine, and since that was the cool thing to do where I lived I had been sucked into those bad habits. It did not make it any better that I had a very dysfunctional family. I am one of ten children (all biological) and am also a twin. My parents had the choice of having so many kids that they could not handle the responsibilities. We were living in a bad environment and without supervision, we would get ourselves into trouble. When I turned 14 my mother and father decided that it would be best to send me to live with my aunt. This is where I would have even less supervision and more drugs and trouble coming for me. I had been prescribed Adderall for my ADHD and when I was living there I would constantly abuse it. I had no future, no dreams, no hopes, and especially I had no one to go to. The one person that would always be there for me had passed away. I was stuck, so stuck that I would think that I would be better off dead than causing more problems for these people that are just doing their best to take care of me. Fast forward four years later and I'm in a much better place with the chance of a lifetime. When I was 16 my parents shipped me off to Georgia to live with my best friend to get a chance in achieving my new goals in life. Since I moved down to Georgia I have been able to work myself out of alternative school into a "regular high school", I have helped volunteer and caretake for the special need at my school. Most importantly I have joined my school's TSA club to become the vice president and head mechanic of that club and see that I'm very talented with mechanics and working with my hands building, repairing, or creating things. I am interested in this scholarship because now the only road block that I have for my dreams would be the cost of persuing college. Thank you, Emmett Williams
