Hello, my name is Emilia and I’m from Houston, Texas. I used to live in Monterrey with my family until I moved in with my aunt to the United States almost six years ago for a better future. It was hard because I had to leave my family behind, sacrificing an immense amount of time without them, but we all knew it would be worth it. I miss them a lot. It’s crazy how almost six years pass by in a blink of an eye, six years of missed birthdays. I value my family a lot, they’re the world to me, flaws and all. I’m a very creative and expressive person. I love to draw, dance, sing, and play guitar. I got my love for music and singing from my dad, and I got my love for drawing from my mom. I remember when I was little I used to draw characters from other shows and sing every song on the radio. Now I do the same and more, I draw characters from my favorite shows, I create my own characters with their own stories and identities, and I make covers of my favorite songs on my guitar. I like to look back at my old sketchbooks and see how much my art style has slowly improved, they might be a bit cringe to watch but I’m still proud of those drawings. My goal is to keep improving and keep creating my art so that eventually I can make stories that leave a great impact on others. I want to be like the artists that have inspired me. To be an artist that creates stories and characters that are meaningful, relatable, and creates that spark of creativity on others.
