Hello my name is Emily Vazquez and I’m a Full-time student in California State University of Fullerton. My major is biological science and my goal is to become a nurse practitioner. I grew up in a Christian based family and was raised up in the church. I’m currently still serving in my church and my community and as I’ve walked through my journey of faith I can testify of the miracles and power of Jesuschrist. Keeping my faith is God has held me through my worst and my whole life because without God I wouldn’t be here today. When my father was called into ministry as a Pastor from God my life completely changed and I could see the difference when walking into the light. I learned how to not depend on my own strength any longer and let the Lord sustain me. I grew up with experiencing the peace and love from God and as I grew older I also grew closer to God and I understood the spiritual aspect in a deeper level. I got to experience what true love means and the peace that one cannot explain because there are no words to explain how it truly feels to have peace. Because of my faith in God I am where I am today and that is only because what Jesus Christ did for me. My family has been a massive supporter in my pursuit of this career, and I'm very excited to start helping others and making an impact in our world to save lives. This summer, I spent my whole time in the hospital due to an illness in my mother's liver, and she needed a liver transplant. Throughout the time I've spent alongside her, I was her caregiver, making sure she was comfortable and getting all the help she needed. My experience in the hospital was enriching, and I had the opportunity to meet some of the best doctors and nurses, as well as gain valuable experience from them. It was an excellent opportunity for me to observe the entire medical team working together to do their best to improve my mother's health. Since then, I have come to realize that nursing is the perfect career for me because it has taught me to be both strong and caring for others and for myself. My mother has had a profound impact on my life, and she has definitely inspired me to pursue a career in nursing. She is my number one fan and is always supportive of me, which I am truly grateful for. Throughout our experience in the hospital, we've learned a great deal about our health and the extent of people's needs. The ocean is such a peaceful place that I experience in my daily life because living near the beach is something so unreal. It's like living on vacation because the beauty of nature creates the kind of music that is overwhelmingly beautiful. My life at the beach is so unreal because I've grown up living near the Pacific Coast, and my family would enjoy making s'mores, making sand castles, swimming and surfing, and creating memories that would last. To me, the beach is a very important part of my life because it’s something that I’ve held on to for so long, and I still do. Keeping the oceans healthy and alive is very important because it keeps us healthy by impacting mental health, negative electrons, and positive electrons that make us happier. The ocean helps our coral reefs and protects our coastlands, making it a home for the marine animals in the ocean. It also provides a food source for protein and omega-3s and 6s because of the fish and seafood that are sustainable for living. Eating seafood is very beneficial for health, and also studying marine biology is so meaningful to us because we are connected through the ocean. Marine biologists could help restore damaged reefs, reduce pollution, and monitor climate change to sustain the ocean. My journey to becoming a registered nurse is a foundation for learning through biological sciences because environmental and human health are interconnected. Marine biology is so phenomenal, and it shows how oceans support clean air, food, and prevent diseases. Helping to protect our environment is to care for people’s mental and physical health, but it is also about protecting the ecosystems that sustain the living things on Earth. Through everyday actions, such as saving water, reusing items, recycling plastics, as well as avoiding the use of plastic and cleaning up beaches. Even as simple as walking or taking a bicycle instead of driving, because it will help the environment overall. My entire life I went to church and participated in events with children’s ministry. Until 7 years ago my dad was called to become a pastor and my family was shocked not knowing what to say but only an amen. I was only 10 years old and I remember my life changing because I grew closer and closer each day to God and let go of many things that didn’t please God. As I started to learn more about how to become a better person for my community I started to realize how much this world needs God. This world is so dark that a little spark can be so noticeable and seen because the time of the LORD is coming. This year I have been helping out in my community by helping families that need help for food or clothing to make sure that our world is living in a better place. I volunteer at my church and we continue to donate clothing or food to women, men, and children because we believe that the world is in a tough place and we need to support each other. Making an impact in the community helps build trust and relationships with neighbors who might be having struggles and need some support. God really touched my family’s heart that it is important to serve our community and help out those in need. The usage of CO2 gas emissions affects the atmosphere and heats up the earth's surface. That problem can be solved by switching to electric vehicles or using bicycles or eco-friendly transportation. Another easy way that can help reduce carbon footprint is to stop food waste that involves waste in plastic, energy, and water that was used to prepare and package the food. Instead of buying plastic water bottles it's important to use eco-friendly products that can be recycled. From my household we make sure to dispose the products correctly and recycle the plastic bottles and cans. Majority of the time we try to be careful for what we buy and what products we consume to not excessively buy products. In essence, we make sure to not use the lights when unnecessary because that helps saves energy. Lastly, another thing that can help reduce carbon footprint is unplugging unused electronic and take shorter showers because it can save carbon emission. Making these decisions can impact my life and help save the planet from over exceeding carbon footprint.

Success shouldn’t have limitations for the reason that it is based on how much effort one puts into their dream. This scholarship will help me achieve my goals by getting the right education from a good University or college. It’s a privilege to serve the community and make a better impact in society.

My background in music starts off as a 10 year old who is inspired by my brother who plays the piano and introduced me to music. Since then I’ve been playing the piano at my local church and started to get more into the musical part. From there I’ve fallen in love with music and started to create some with my brother and is now a huge part of my family. My goals in pursuing a musical degree is to make christian music and influence others during tough times. Piano is a way where I can express my feelings and impact others through my music. By using my talent and creating songs with the piano I can encourage other people I know about music. Another goal is being a piano teacher and encouraging others to pursue their dream of music. My career aspirations are to give comfort through music and relieve stress from the world through music. It has impacted me greatly and I would like to share my experiences with others. Through my experience with music I faced challenges like feeling lonely or having stress and anxiety but music help me get through it. I use Music to express my feelings and help me get through many challenges. It’s a way where I can feel safe and free from stress in my life. Music has affected my life in a very positive way because it helps me get through the tough seasons in life. Loosing my grandpa during COVID was a very hard time for my life. One way that help our family overcome the sadness was through music. It has impacted our family because today we continue as a family band. My hopes for my career is to influence young people to get involved with music and have a great experience with it. From the help of scholarships I could achieve my goals to teach children and adults the piano and give lessons that will inspire them. This college will help me achieve my career aspirations by learning more about music and increase my skill of the piano and other aspects of music. My dream school includes music which is my passion and I believe that this school will help me achieve my dreams. It would be an honor to be accepted to this school because I grew up with a musical family and it’s very important to me. My goals in the future is to impact the community by volunteering in my church, and helping out children, women and men and families in need. My ministry gives out food to families during hard times and I like to volunteer to help them. I also volunteer at the children’s ministry at provide them school supplies for the future going to college will help me expand my community and help others financially, physically or mentally. Utilizing my education will positively impact my community to get learning experience, and majoring in business can support organizations like charities, missionaries, children education, and more. I want to create a business that will help people financially, and encourage them to make a positive impact in the world. School will give me ways to make a greater impact on the community in grow my knowledge and understanding. I’m also open to anything that will help others. As I pursue my dreams, I hope that the scholarship will help me get there and get into a good university without worrying about the price. In the future, I would also like to donate to students, who want to make an impact in the world. By that I would need education and a business to financially help others. My goal is to make a greater impact in the world and inspire people not just financially, but also threw my hobbies. I get inspired by so many people through music and they get a really good education. Creating my own music in the future will impact people who go through depression, anxiety, stress, and more. Through experience I hope that people will be encouraged through my music and be inspired. Music is a way to have those who are having a rough day or they feel lonely to feel loved through my music. Education will help me grow and expand on my goals and not limit myself on opportunities. Utilizing my education will help me gain learning and knowledge more on music and experience. My goal for music is to impact the community in the world with my music and share good morals and values to our next generation. Hello my name is Emely and I’m a Senior at my school Fountain Valle High School. My dream is to get into a good college or university and impact my community through music. That would need a good school so that I could learn more about the language and aspect of music. I want to grow my knowledge of music and the theory behind it. My goal is to create my own music in the future and help others in tough seasons through my music. People who are having a hard day need encouragement and my goal is to help them with the music I create. I’ve had experiences where I just need to listen to music to be joyful, relaxed, and grateful. My experiences with music has helped me a lot because when I’m going through a hard time my motivation is music. At church I play the piano and I volunteer to teach other youth members that are interested. Music has impacted my life so much that it brings my family together creating a band. My sister plays the bass and my three brothers play drums, guitar, and sing and that’s how we connect with each other. Listening to Christian music and hearing powerful testimonies about people being the best version of themselves has helped me to be a better person. People who have had a terrible hard past have been transformed completely and they serve at my local church being part in the music industry. My passion for music is stronger than it has ever been before which started when I was 10 years old. I grew up in a household of music and we have always carried that until today. Music is one of the ways we’re I feel free to express my feelings or thoughts. I use the piano to help me be creative and have fun. Also music helps me when I’m stressed out and it’s such a blessing to have in my life. Music has changed my life in a positive way which is why I want to pursue it into the future.
