Hi, my name is Libby Cislo. I am 20 years old and shortly after graduation, on August 12, 2023, I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Due to treatment, I had to leave work and take a double gap year, and while my timeline and journey looked different, my dream of becoming a professional singer did not waiver. I have just completed my first year at Belmont University, where I am pursuing a B.A. in Commercial Music with an emphasis in vocal performance. While I’ve accomplished a lot this past year, my greatest accomplishment was on December 19th, 2025 when I got to ring the bell after a two-and-a-half-year battle – all while having completed my first semester at Belmont. My cancer journey serves as a reminder that adversity can shape you without defining you, a lesson I apply daily as I pursue my education and dream.
