Craig Family Scholarship
I'm applying for this scholarship because I come from a low-income family who can't afford to send me to college on our own. I grew up with adverse childhood experiences throughout my life due to having parents who have been addicted to drugs and chose drugs over their children. I want to be either a high school teacher or a high school student advocate. I'm passionate about helping support children who are overlooked and need support that may come with judgment from others. I as a future educator am passionate about making each one of my students feel safe and have what they need to be successful not only in the classroom but in life outside of school. I am currently enrolled in EVCC through my school Everett High School and I'm striving to graduate with my AA degree along with my high school diploma. I took my para pro assessment and I have my para pro certificate. I'm trying to have as many certificates and education to have the next opportunity to make a positive impact on students in the classroom. There have been many controversies regarding schooling and our education system. I'm the next generation of educators, I'm ready to further my education and make a difference in our education system, and let our students voices be heard to allow them to create a classroom space that they personalize and want to be in. Many high school students find school lackluster and pointless. I strive to be an educator that makes students want to come to school and have the motivation to succeed. Getting this scholarship will help me not worry about the financial burden of college and allow me to completely focus on my education to support and teach my future students to the best of my ability.
