Bio

I am a hard working student with who is ready to figure out how the world works. I want to be smart about my future and make sure I start out my life as finical sound as I can. I hope to go into the Engineering field and find a job where others can benefit from my work. I want to be able to give back to the community and support others as I wish to be supported. I was born and raised in a small town in Ohio and tight knit communities, family members, and friends mean the world to me. I live by the Golden Rule and I feel like there is so much positivity and good to be spread in this world. I am ready and excited to begin the journey of furthering my education and I cannot wait to see where this chapter in my life takes me!

Volleyball was something that I held near and dear to my heart. Not only did I love the game but I loved my team. Moving past all the literal skills of volleyball that I learned over the years, being a part of this sport taught me many life lessons. One very important skill that I learned was time management. Due to having practice every day after school, and games a couple of times a week, I spent a lot of time at volleyball and there were many late nights. Not to mention I had other clubs and activities that I was participating in. I had to learn how to prioritize what homework to get done and when. I had to learn to make the most of my time and stay focused so I could maintain good grades while showing up for my team. I also had to learn some important social skills for volleyball. Naturally speaking, I am a very shy person. As I am sure you know, there is no room for being quiet on the volleyball court, especially not as a libero. I had to grow out of my shell and develop a level of confidence that allowed me to take control when I knew what I was doing and could help the team. Another social skill I had to learn was how to work with teammates that I might not have loved as people. I had to learn how to support my team on the court regardless of any drama or tensions from off the court. On the court, you need to be united and put away anything that could get in the way of a focused game. I was not a natural when it came to volleyball but I had the drive to become better for myself and my teammates. I attended club volleyball, I took private lessons, I stayed after with coaches, and I asked as many questions as I could. Not to mention the hours and hours I would spend passing the ball against a wall, practicing my serving and back row attacks. I never got tired of all the extra practice though, I loved every moment I could spend peppering with my family or a fellow teammate. All of my hard work was paying off, freshmen year I was selected as Libero for our JV team. I was so honored to be in this position, not only did I get to give my all for every play, I was one of the main spirit leaders for our team. Throughout the years of volleyball, I have learned what it means to be dedicated. I plan to apply that dedication to my schoolwork in college. I had a passion for volleyball and it helped me to recognize how it feels to be passionate about something. I will use that experience to help me determine the right path for me in college. I want to establish a career for myself that I am passionate about and that makes me feel fulfilled and happy. I also plan on using the time management skills that I learned to be able to have a successful academic career in college while also participating in groups and activities that make me a well-rounded individual. I will also use the social skills I have developed to leave behind any issues I might have had with a person behind me for the greater good of myself, my projects, my grades, and my future career.
