I was homeless at the age of 14 and I found a way to feed myself and provide a roof over my head without the help of family or organizations including government organizations in my area offering any type of help. I became a single mother at the age of 17; becoming pregnant at the age of 16. I have lived in poverty since the beginning of my life and am no stranger to struggle. After raising my three children I have decided to take a risk and that risk is me getting my dream education. I'm currently attending AIU and am passing with flying colors. I am a small business owner who has put the business on the back burner so I can learn the ins and outs of business that can't be learned doing the "grunt" work. Once I get my degree in Business Management specializing in Entrepreneurship I plan on kicking my business back into gear where I plan to offer quality that people in my area have been made to do without because WalMart has shut all of its competition down and I plan on putting the customers back where they belong and that's first. I'm giving their choice back and by that I'm also going to try to give each customer the attention they deserve and the appreciation that's needed for their hard earned money being spent with me. By doing so I plan on giving each member of my community back something that was stolen from them and most doesn't even know it's gone. That's a sense of worth and importance. They're going to know that each penny that they worked hard for is going to a place that knows it's worth and truly is grateful for it. They are going to know that without each one of them my dream wouldn't be anything. I'm bringing back quality and a selection of items with it that can't be found in mega bulk packages and I'm going to let each one know that yes they are worth it. While building my business up I plan on breaking ground for a charity that helps homeless teens that has no place to go with or without children of their own. Providing a hotel type housing for several families with all the amenities of a real home, a section for counseling, financial planning, and an outreach that provides each one with things needed for everyday living and a playground area outside. It's going to give them a foot in the world, education of how to live in their own, as well as steer them clear of drugs. Young parents lack having a good grasp on adult life in my area because of failure to teach them the things they need to know. My home is going to offer all of that so disadvantage teen parents can stop the cycle, get a steady foothold in life, and a place that offers continued support throughout life. So that when things get hard they don't give up. They have a living caring place to turn for help.
