My goal is to be the first professional writer in my family full of pastors. My family has had many beautiful discussions about ideas that could become amazing pieces for me to write about. I also have had many experiences that could become engaging stories for vast audiences. Those experiences include being a flying high on the silks, my father being burned and almost dying, becoming my mother's assistant choreographer for stage events when I was only 12, and the challenges I've faced coming from a small community.

Merging Aspirations and Empowerment: A Journey Toward Impactful Career and Personal Growth
Graduating with a college degree represents more than an academic achievement; it is a pivotal step toward realizing my career aspirations and personal growth. As I prepare to embark on this journey at Oral Roberts University, I reflect on how my career goals and personal empowerment are intricately linked, shaping my path toward a fulfilling career in entertainment law and a life dedicated to inspiring others.
Career Aspirations: From Passion to Profession
My ambition to pursue a career in entertainment law is deeply rooted in my extensive and varied background in the arts. This passion was ignited at the age of 10 when I began working alongside my mother as an assistant choreographer. By 16, I had progressed to choreographing national events, enriching my love for the arts and setting the stage for my future ambitions. These experiences taught me the importance of discipline, storytelling, and captivating an audience—skills that are invaluable in both artistic and legal professions.
Insights and Empowerment: The Power of Diverse Experiences
Throughout my teenage years, I gained valuable insights into the entertainment industry's inner workings. My roles as a photographer, stage assistant, and audio engineer at national events allowed me to witness the intricate balance between creativity and legal obligations. Discussions about contractual details fascinated me, highlighting the importance of legal frameworks in the entertainment world. These experiences sparked my curiosity about how contracts ensure the fulfillment of expectations for artists and promoters alike and empowered me to explore these interests confidently.
A Deeper Understanding of Legal Complexities
My involvement in acting for local video projects and commercials furthered my understanding of the legal intricacies within the entertainment realm. The moment my parents signed consent forms for my image and likeness was a turning point. What seemed like a straightforward honor of being selected for a commercial was, in fact, a complex legal agreement. This realization deepened my interest in the role of contracts and intellectual property rights in shaping the industry. Empowerment has allowed me to navigate these complexities with confidence, transforming challenges into opportunities for growth.
Academic Pursuits: Blending Art and Law
To achieve my career goals, I chose to pursue a double major in writing with a pre-law emphasis and dance performance. This academic path underscores my commitment to merging my artistic talents with a solid foundation in law. By combining these disciplines, I am equipping myself with a unique perspective on the legal challenges and opportunities within the entertainment industry. This multidisciplinary approach will prepare me to navigate the ever-evolving landscape of entertainment law with confidence and competence.
Leadership and Community Involvement
Empowerment has also been a cornerstone of my personal development, allowing me to inspire and uplift those around me. As a captain of various sports teams and a leader in my church, I have learned the value of teamwork, resilience, and leading by example. My involvement in community activities, including winning a national pageant and serving as an ambassador to teens, emphasizes my commitment to using my voice to make a difference. Empowerment has instilled in me a sense of responsibility and the joy of inspiring others through faith and music.
Mastering Artistic Expression and Legal Knowledge
As a professional aerialist specializing in silks, lyra, and trapeze bar performances, I have dedicated myself to mastering unique forms of artistic expression. These experiences taught me valuable lessons about contractual negotiations, liability issues, and other legal considerations inherent in the performance arts. The firsthand knowledge I gained through these roles will be invaluable as I pursue a career as an entertainment lawyer. Empowerment has enabled me to transform these experiences into a robust foundation for my future career.
Overcoming Challenges and Advocacy
Empowerment has been crucial in overcoming the challenges I have faced. Growing up in a small community with limited opportunities taught me resilience and the importance of cherishing every moment. A pivotal moment was nearly losing my father in a fire, which reinforced my determination to succeed despite obstacles. Additionally, my advocacy for preventing bullying, both in-person and online, is a testament to empowerment's transformative power. By sharing my story and participating in community workshops, I aim to empower others to stand against bullying.
The Role of the Scholarship in Achieving My Goals
Receiving a scholarship would be instrumental in supporting my academic and professional endeavors. The financial assistance would allow me to focus on my studies without the added stress of financial burdens, enabling me to fully immerse myself in my educational pursuits. Additionally, the scholarship would provide opportunities for networking and mentorship, crucial for building connections and gaining insights from experienced professionals in entertainment law.
Future Plans and the Impact of the Scholarship
Upon graduating with a college degree, I plan to further my education by attending law school, specializing in entertainment law. My goal is to provide legal counsel to artists, performers, and industry professionals, ensuring that their rights are protected and their creative visions are realized. The scholarship will help me achieve this by easing the financial load of my education, allowing me to focus on gaining the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in law school and beyond.
Aspiring to Inspire
My aspiration to become the first professional writer in my family is a personal milestone that celebrates my family's legacy of storytelling. Empowerment has given me the confidence to pursue this dream, transforming discussions and experiences into compelling narratives. I am committed to using my skills to inspire and connect people through storytelling, creative arts initiatives, and community involvement. Empowerment, to me, is not just a personal journey; it is a shared mission to inspire, uplift, and create a more empathetic world for all.
Conclusion
Graduating with a college degree is a significant milestone in my journey toward a career in entertainment law and personal empowerment. With the support of a scholarship, I am confident that I can achieve my academic and professional goals, making a positive impact in the field. My passion for the arts and dedication to legal advocacy promise an exciting and rewarding career trajectory, one that will allow me to support and empower the creative community.
Empowerment has shaped my life by fostering personal growth, resilience, leadership, and a deep commitment to my community. As I prepare for the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead, I embrace them with open arms, driven by a mission to inspire and empower others.

Achieving Greatness Through Hardship: My Journey to the Stage
Life often presents us with challenges that test our resilience, faith, and determination. My journey to achieving something great amidst tremendous hardship is a testament to the power of perseverance, strategic thinking, and personal growth. The obstacles I faced were not just hurdles to overcome but also opportunities to learn and emerge stronger.
The Challenge of Peer Pressure
During my high school years, I faced a significant personal challenge: peer pressure. Many friends I had been close with since childhood began experimenting with alcohol and other substances. This shift in behavior threatened the social fabric I had known for years, leaving me feeling isolated and alone. My social circle had dissipated, and I found myself at a crossroads. I had to make a difficult decision—to either follow the crowd or stand my ground. I chose the latter, prioritizing my values and future over fleeting acceptance.
The Strategy of Resilience and Clarity
Navigating this period required resilience and clarity. I used a strategy that involved focusing on my long-term goals and maintaining a clear sense of self. I immersed myself in activities that aligned with my values and passions, such as community service and personal development. This approach not only helped me stay grounded but also provided a constructive outlet for my energy and emotions.
A New Passion: Pageantry
With my parents' support, I pursued a new passion—pageantry. This decision was not merely a diversion but a strategic move to channel my experiences into something positive. Competing in pageants taught me valuable skills such as public speaking, confidence, and the importance of service. It also offered a platform to share my story and inspire others who might be facing similar challenges.
Overcoming Obstacles with Determination
My journey in pageantry had obstacles. The competition was fierce, and I had to work diligently to catch up with competitors who started as babies. I spent countless hours preparing, practicing, and perfecting my performance. I learned to embrace constructive criticism and used it to improve. My determination paid off when I became a finalist in my first state pageant and eventually won a national title.
The Role of Faith and Support
Throughout this journey, my faith played a pivotal role. It provided me with the strength and courage to face adversity head-on. My family, particularly my father, supported me unconditionally, offering encouragement and guidance when I needed it most. Their belief in my abilities motivated me to push through even the toughest times.
Achieving Greatness
Winning the national pageant was a monumental achievement that marked a turning point in my life. It was more than a title; it was a validation of my choices and a testament to the power of perseverance. The experience taught me invaluable lessons about resilience, determination, and the importance of staying true to oneself.
Lessons for the Future
This journey has equipped me with skills and insights that I carry forward. I've learned the importance of setting clear goals, maintaining integrity, and embracing challenges as opportunities for growth. My experience has also reinforced the value of empathy and support, both of which I strive to offer others who face their own trials.
In conclusion, the hardships I faced in high school were transformative. They led me to discover new passions, develop essential skills, and achieve something great. Through strategic thinking, determination, and the support of my loved ones, I turned adversity into a stepping stone to greatness. This journey has shaped me into the person I am today, ready to face future challenges with confidence and grace.

The Role of Faith and Family in Shaping My Educational and Career Aspirations
Faith has been a steadfast companion in my life, guiding me through trials and victories, while also shaping my academic and career goals. My journey of faith began during a challenging period in my childhood when my father suffered severe burns in an accident. This experience profoundly tested my belief system, but it also taught me invaluable lessons about resilience, empathy, and the power of prayer. These lessons have been instrumental in shaping my ambition to pursue higher education and a career in entertainment law.
A Trial of Faith and Lessons Learned
During the weeks after my father's accident, faith became my refuge. My aunt and I prayed daily, seeking solace and strength from a higher power. This practice anchored me in hope and provided the courage to face uncertainty. Witnessing my father's determination to recover, despite overwhelming odds, inspired me to confront my own challenges with resilience and perseverance. These experiences instilled in me a profound understanding of the importance of faith in overcoming adversity, a lesson I carry into my academic pursuits and future ambitions.
The Influence of Family in Pursuing Education
The support of my family has been integral to my educational journey. My parents, who demonstrated resilience during our family's trial, have always emphasized the importance of education. Their encouragement and the lessons learned from my father's recovery have motivated me to pursue a double major at Oral Roberts University in writing with a pre-law emphasis and dance performance. This academic path reflects my commitment to blending my artistic talents with a solid foundation in law, preparing me for a career in entertainment law.
A Passion for Entertainment Law
My early exposure to the entertainment industry, beginning as my mother's assistant choreographer and later as a seasoned performer, has significantly influenced my career aspirations. Through these experiences, I gained insights into the dynamic interplay between creativity and legalities. My parents' discussions about contractual obligations sparked my curiosity about the legal frameworks governing artists and promoters. This interest deepened as I encountered the legal complexities of acting and performance arts, reinforcing my desire to pursue a career in entertainment law.
Combining Faith, Art, and Law
The combination of faith, family support, and my experiences in the entertainment industry has positioned me uniquely for a career in entertainment law. My faith provides a moral compass and resilience, while my family's encouragement fuels my academic endeavors. By 16, I was already choreographing national events, learning that success in the arts is a product of dedication and hard work, rather than talent alone. This early exposure taught me the discipline necessary to excel, a lesson that continues to guide my educational pursuits.
College represents a crucial stage in my quest to understand the marriage between creativity and legalities. During my teenage years, I worked as a photographer and stage assistant at a local music festival. This role requires not only physical prowess but also an understanding of safety protocols and contractual negotiations. These experiences have provided me with firsthand knowledge of the legal considerations inherent in performance arts, emphasizing the necessity of hard work in mastering both the art and the legal frameworks that support it.
Ultimately, my college education is a stepping stone toward a career in entertainment law, where I aspire to make meaningful contributions. The blend of hands-on experience and academic pursuits equips me with the tools to navigate the complex landscape of the entertainment industry. My passion for the arts, coupled with my commitment to law, promises an exciting and impactful career trajectory, where I can use my knowledge and skills to advocate for artists and ensure their creative rights are protected.
In conclusion, attending college is more than just a means to an academic degree for me; it is a transformative journey that shapes my character, skills, and future aspirations. Through dedication and perseverance, I aim to bridge the gap between art and law, contributing to the entertainment industry in a way that honors both my creative passions and my legal ambitions. As I continue this journey, the lessons learned from my experiences highlight the enduring value of hard work in achieving both personal and professional fulfillment.

The Impact of Cancer on My Life
Cancer, a word that evokes fear and sadness, also inspires resilience and hope. It has deeply impacted my life, teaching me about strength and vulnerability. My journey with cancer began with my great-grandfather, "Papaw," a brilliant musician who played piano by ear—a skill that seemed magical.
A Melody of Memories
Papaw's passion for music was contagious. He could hear a song once and then play it flawlessly on the piano. I fondly remember playing songs for him on my iPad; he would listen intently and then recreate the melody effortlessly. His musical prowess was akin to the capabilities of Artificial Intelligence in 2025, yet he achieved this through intuition and passion.
One cherished memory is from a Christmas morning when I received my very own kiddie piano. Excited, I gathered every instrument I could find and brought them to Papaw's house. We orchestrated a family performance, with Papaw leading on the piano as we played "Where Are You Christmas." My family still reminisces about how Papaw played as if it were second nature to him.
The Harsh Reality of Skin Cancer
Despite his vibrant spirit, Papaw's life was altered by skin cancer. His diagnosis revealed that cancer could affect anyone, even someone as diligent as Papaw. Watching him endure chemotherapy and radiation was my first encounter with cancer's harsh reality. Although treatments aimed to provide comfort, they couldn't change the outcome. Papaw's passing left a void that music alone couldn't fill. It was my first experience losing a loved one to cancer, teaching me about life's fragility and the importance of cherishing every moment.
A New Chapter with My Grandmother
Years later, during my senior year of high school, cancer reappeared in my life. This time, it was my grandmother who received a skin cancer diagnosis on her toe. The news was devastating, but my grandmother's resilience shone through. She assured us that if amputation was necessary to be cancer-free, she would face it bravely.
In December 2024, my grandmother had her toe amputated. Her recovery was a testament to her strength and determination. Today, she is cancer-free, and her courage serves as a beacon of hope for our family. Her experience reinforced the importance of vigilance and proactive care against skin cancer.
A Legacy of Awareness
Cancer's shadow looms large over my family. Our experiences have instilled in me the importance of regular check-ups and diligent skin care. These lessons are part of the legacy left by Papaw, whose musical brilliance continues to inspire me, and my grandmother, whose bravery is a guiding light.
While cancer has profoundly impacted my life, it has also taught me invaluable lessons. It has shown me the strength of the human spirit and the importance of family support. I have learned to appreciate each day's beauty, much like the melodies Papaw effortlessly brought to life. Both Papaw and my grandmother have shown me that while cancer can take much away, it cannot diminish the love and courage that define us.

The Paleolithic and Neolithic periods are two significant phases in history, each having
distinct differences in lifestyles and in societal advances. The Paleolithic period lasting from
about 2.5 million to 8000 B.C.E., is called the “Old Stone Age” and is the beginning of the
making of chipped stone tools. The Neolithic period, lasting from about 8000-3000 B.C.E., is
known as the “New Stone Age” and is characterized by the innovation of farming and advancing
stone implements. Although both are these periods are similar, they can also be different. A
few things that are different in these periods are the timeframe, and the food source. The
Paleolithic and Neolithic periods differ significantly from the present world today in many ways.
One way the Paleolithic and Neolithic periods differ is in their timeframes. The
Paleolithic and Neolithic periods represent important phases in human history. The paleolithic
era marks the beginning of chipped stone tools. The Paleolithic period spanned from around 2.5
million years ago to approximately 10,000 B.C.E. It was recognized for its vagrant lifestyles and
reliance on hunting and gathering, while the Neolithic period, beginning around 10,000 B.C.E.
saw the rise of agriculture, settled communities, and technological advances. During the
Paleolithic era, humans had to hunt and gather frequently searching for food as a survival tactic
as well as create tools made from stone. The Neolithic era was somewhat different because it
introduced the practice of farming diminishing the reliance on hunting and gathering as much.
Thus settlements began to form, making the Neolithic period the rise of civilization. The shift
from nomadic lifestyles to a more settled way of life made these periods some of the most
transformative periods in human history.
During the Paleolithic and Neolithic periods, the sources of food varied with humans’
diets based strictly on what they hunted to a more advanced system of farming and use of
domesticated animals. In the Paleolithic period, humans were forced to rely primarily on
hunting wild animals, fishing, and gathering edible plants like fruit, nuts, and seeds. This
lifestyle caused humans to be more dependent on the environment and on seasonal
availability of plant and animal life. With the rise of the Neolithic period, humans began to shift
to more settled living, and began domesticating animals such as sheep, goats, and cattle. In
addition, they also grew crops such as wheat, barley, and rice. The transition to agriculture
made a more stable food supply. Ultimately, the change in food from hunting and gathering to
farming in the Neolithic period marked a pivotal point in human history.
The world today is extremely different from the Paleolithic and Neolithic periods.
Societies have moved from small groups who had to hunt to more complex, technologically
advanced, and urban civilizations. The Paleolithic period is called the “Old Stone Age” due to
the time when humans had to hunt and gather food to survive, with the Neolithic period being
called the “New Stone Age” due to its more advanced system of farming and domesticating
animals. Today, societies have advanced technology, with inventions like iPhones and
computers that make lives very different from the past. While humans in the Paleolithic and
Neolithic periods lived close with nature and had limited tools, today the environment is
shaped through industry, transportation and agriculture. The world has transformed in many
ways, but it all started with those early changes in how humans lived and worked together.
In conclusion, the Paleolithic and Neolithic periods signify two crucial transitions in
human history, from hunting and gathering lifestyles to more settled agricultural communities.
While the Paleolithic period relied heavily on the environment for survival, the Neolithic period
introduced more practical options for survival such as farming and animal domestication. These
shifts not only shaped early human societies but also laid the foundation for the rise of more
complex civilizations. Today, despite technology advancements, the legacy of these periods still
show in how humans interact with their environment and stretcher their communities.

Misheard Melody - The Unexpected Gospel of "Hey Ya"
In the quiet of the sanctuary's glow,
Where whispered hymns and prayers flow,
I sat with thoughts adrift and free,
And mused on a song so dear to me.
Outkast's rhythm in my head,
A catchy tune, my heart it fed,
I swore its chorus sang of grace,
A soulful "Prayer" in its embrace.
Each vibrant beat, a joyful call,
Resounding through the chapel hall,
Yet puzzled glances met my cheer,
No matching hymn did others hear.
With hands uplifted to the sky,
I questioned why this song passed by,
Why didn't the choir echo its cheer,
In Sunday service, loud and clear?
The truth revealed, a playful jest,
The word was "Hey Ya," not my guess,
A twist of sound, a lyrical dance,
That led my mind a merry chance.
Yet still I find a hopeful thread,
In joyful tunes that fill my head,
For music's magic, misheard or true,
Can lift the soul and spirit too.
So let the chorus play once more,
In sacred halls or dance floors,
Whether "Prayer" or "Hey Ya" it may be,
The heart finds solace in melody.
Big Picture Scholarship
Movies have a unique ability to resonate with us, shaping our thoughts and perceptions in unexpected ways. For me, the film that has had the greatest impact on my life is "10 Things I Hate About You." This modern adaptation of Shakespeare's "The Taming of the Shrew" not only entertains but also reflects aspects of my own life, particularly as an eldest daughter with a caring, albeit protective, father.
From the first time I watched "10 Things I Hate About You," I felt an immediate connection to Kat Stratford, the protagonist. As the oldest daughter in my family, I understand the pressures and expectations that come with that role. Kat's rebellious spirit and fierce independence remind me of my own struggles to carve out my identity while navigating the expectations placed upon me by my family. Her relationship with her father, who cares deeply yet sometimes oversteps with his protective nature, mirrors my own family's dynamics.
Another reason for my deep appreciation of this film is my love for Shakespeare. "10 Things I Hate About You" brilliantly translates the classic "The Taming of the Shrew" into a story that resonates with younger audiences. It maintains the essence of Shakespeare's work while making it accessible and relevant to modern viewers. I love how this film introduces timeless themes of love, identity, and transformation through a contemporary lens. This adaptation sparked my interest in exploring more of Shakespeare's works, allowing me to appreciate the richness of language and storytelling.
One of the pivotal moments in the movie is when Kat, in a moment of rebellion, accidentally hits her head on a chandelier, and Patrick comes to her rescue. This scene marks a turning point in the narrative, shifting Patrick's interest from a superficial bet to genuine care. It's a powerful reminder of how relationships can evolve and transform us. Watching Kat and Patrick's relationship develop taught me about the importance of authenticity and vulnerability in connections with others.
The scene at prom, a quintessential teenage rite of passage, is a moment of revelation for Kat. Initially dismissive of the event, she eventually succumbs to its allure, only to be devastated upon discovering Patrick's initial motives. This moment of heartbreak is universal, capturing the essence of teenage vulnerability and the pain of betrayal. It resonated with me deeply, as it illustrated the complexities of trust and the courage required to forgive and move forward.
Kat's journey culminates in the iconic poem she writes, "10 Things I Hate About You." This moment of self-expression is cathartic, not only for Kat but for viewers as well. Her vulnerability and honesty, coupled with the emotional impact of her words, highlight the power of self-expression in processing emotions and finding closure. The poem scene inspired me to embrace my own creativity and use writing as a tool for self-discovery and healing.
"10 Things I Hate About You" concludes with a happy ending, reinforcing themes of redemption and personal growth. Kat and Patrick's journey reminds us that love, in its truest form, is about acceptance and understanding. This film taught me that while life's challenges are inevitable, facing them with integrity and an open heart can lead to unexpected joy.
In conclusion, "10 Things I Hate About You" has significantly impacted my life by reflecting my personal experiences, deepening my appreciation for literature, and teaching me about the transformative power of relationships and self-expression. It's a film that continues to inspire and resonate with me, reminding me of the importance of authenticity and the courage to embrace one's true self.

The Influence of Mrs. Thelma McRae: A Beacon of Leadership and Faith
In the tapestry of life, some individuals leave an indelible mark on our souls, transforming the way we perceive and navigate the world. For me, that person is Mrs. Thelma McRae, a high school teacher whose profound influence has shaped my approach to life. Mrs. McRae is not only a remarkable educator but also an inspiring leader and a testament to the power of faith.
A Woman of Many Hats
Mrs. McRae's ability to juggle multiple roles with grace and poise is what I admire most about her. At our small private school, she is not just a teacher; she also serves as the principal and a co-administrator. This alone would be an impressive feat, but Mrs. McRae goes beyond the confines of our school. She pastors a new church plant, a commitment that requires her to travel over an hour from her home and the school to Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Her dedication to both education and her faith community is nothing short of incredible.
Her personality shines through her memorable one-liners, which have become guiding principles for many of her students. Phrases like "slow obedience is disobedience" and "don't be carnal" are not just words; they are nuggets of wisdom that encourage us to act promptly and maintain our integrity.
The Classroom Catalyst
In the classroom, Mrs. McRae has done wonders for our school. One of her significant contributions is the implementation of dual credit classes in collaboration with Southern Arkansas University Tech. This initiative allows students like me to graduate with 12 college credit hours, giving us a head start on our higher education journey. This forward-thinking approach has opened doors for many students, providing opportunities we might not have otherwise had.
Mrs. McRae has also taught me the importance of being a leader who prays. Her belief in the power of prayer is evident every time she takes my hand to pray during moments of chaos. She has instilled in me the understanding that prayer is essential for feeling centered and grounded, a lesson I will cherish and carry with me throughout my life.
A Beacon of Faith
Beyond the boundaries of our school, Mrs. McRae's work with her church plant in Pine Bluff is awe-inspiring. Despite the challenges posed by the town's high crime rate and poverty levels, she felt called to make a difference. Her unwavering faith and determination have shown me the power of following one's calling, even when the path seems daunting.
Witnessing Mrs. McRae live out her calling has been a testament to the strength of faith and resilience. Her journey is a reminder that with faith, dedication, and a willingness to serve, we can overcome obstacles and make meaningful contributions to our communities.
A Lasting Impact
Mrs. Thelma McRae has undoubtedly changed the way I approach life. Her ability to wear many hats gracefully, her dedication to education, and her steadfast faith have left a lasting impression on me. She has taught me to be proactive, lean on prayer in times of need, and pursue my calling with courage and conviction.
In a world where many voices compete for our attention, it is individuals like Mrs. McRae who stand out as beacons of hope and inspiration. She has not only influenced my life but has also enriched the lives of countless others, leaving a legacy that will endure for generations to come.

Fostering a Spirit of Excellence
Excellence transcends individual achievements; it is about continuously striving to improve oneself and inspiring those around us to do the same. This spirit of excellence is something I endeavor to embody in every aspect of my life. From my early days in sports and cheerleading at a small school, I realized that true excellence isn't measured by the magnitude of one's accomplishments but by the dedication and passion one invests in their endeavors.
In my daily life, I show others a spirit of excellence through my commitment to personal growth and resilience. Whether tackling academic challenges, athletic pursuits, or personal goals, I adopt a mindset that embraces the potential for improvement. Many times in life, especially as as teenager, I am not able to control situations I am put in by others. The only thing I can control in those situations is my reaction. I feel this is a true sign of maturity. For example, I can not control the budget to buy cheerleading uniforms because this is something the administration at my school determines, but I can help find the best uniforms for the amount we could spend. This perspective has ingrained in me the values of perseverance and dedication, qualities that have significantly shaped my experiences and accomplishments over time.
Consistently Giving Back
Community service is a cornerstone of my life, deeply ingrained in the values cultivated during my upbringing in a close-knit environment. Growing up in a small community taught me the significance of mutual support and the importance of giving back whenever possible. I actively seek opportunities to make a positive impact in my community, whether through organized events or spontaneous acts of kindness.
One significant way I contribute is by volunteering with local youth sports programs. I understand the profound impact that being part of a team can have on young individuals, and I am deeply passionate about helping them discover the same joy and growth that I experienced. Additionally, I participate in food giveaways during the COVID 19 Pandemic when it was needed most. I spent over 200 hours participating in these Food Giveaways and was awarded a GOLD Presidential Volunteer Service Award.
Building on Opportunities
Opportunities serve as stepping stones in further developing my spirit of excellence and commitment to community service. I approach each opportunity with the same determination and enthusiasm I cultivated on the basketball court and cheerleading squad. By maintaining an open-minded and adaptable attitude, I can transform challenges into avenues for growth and meaningful contribution.
In conclusion, my commitment to a life of excellence and community service remains unwavering. I am dedicated to maximizing the resources and opportunities available to me and am committed to giving back to my community in meaningful ways. By nurturing these values, I hope to inspire others to embrace excellence and service in their own lives, thereby fostering a supportive and thriving community for all.

Embracing Second Chances: A Personal Journey Inspired by Nelson Vecchione
In the spirit of Nelson Vecchione's dedication to providing second chances, I reflect on how my own experiences have shaped my understanding of this vital concept. While my pursuit of a career in entertainment law may seem worlds apart from the humanitarian work that Vecchione championed, the essence of seeking and providing second chances is a shared thread in our narratives.
Volunteering During the COVID-19 Pandemic
During the COVID-19 pandemic, I volunteered at local food giveaways, dedicating over 200 hours to community service. This experience was more than just a commitment; it was a profound lesson in resilience and empathy. Witnessing individuals and families grappling with unforeseen challenges illuminated the importance of offering second chances. Every meal distributed represented a step toward stability and hope, reminding me that even in the darkest times, opportunities for renewal and support exist. This volunteer work not only impacted the lives of those I served but also deeply influenced my perspective on the power of community and compassion.
From Entertainment to Empowerment
My journey into entertainment law began with my early involvement in the entertainment industry. At just 10 years old, I worked as my mother's assistant choreographer, and by 16, I was choreographing national events. This exposure to the arts sparked a passion that would eventually intertwine with my interest in law. The entertainment industry is rife with stories of second chances—artists reinventing themselves, contracts offering new opportunities, and legal frameworks providing fresh starts.
Behind-the-Scenes Lessons
As a teenager working behind the scenes at a local music festival, I learned about the intricate balance between creativity and the legalities that support it. My parents' discussions about contractual obligations, often laced with humorous anecdotes about blue M&M demands, piqued my curiosity about the legal structures that ensure fairness and accountability. These insights revealed the essential role that contracts play in providing individuals with the assurance and trust necessary to pursue their creative endeavors.
Academic and Artistic Duality
At Oral Roberts University, I am pursuing a double major in writing with a pre-law emphasis and dance performance. This dual path underscores my commitment to blending artistic expression with legal acumen. Just as Vecchione dedicated his life to opening doors for others, my academic pursuits aim to equip me with the tools to help artists navigate the legal complexities of their careers, offering them the second chances they may need to thrive.
Aerial Artistry and Legal Foundations
My work as a professional aerialist has taught me about the legal considerations inherent in the performance arts. Each performance, reliant on safety and equipment, underscores the importance of contractual negotiations and liability issues. These experiences have provided me with a practical understanding of the legal frameworks that protect performers and enable them to express their artistry safely.
A Commitment to Second Chances
My journey—from volunteering during a global crisis to aspiring to become an entertainment lawyer—reflects a deep-seated commitment to second chances. Through my hands-on experiences and academic endeavors, I hope to contribute to a world where opportunities for renewal and growth are accessible to all. Inspired by Nelson Vecchione's legacy, I am dedicated to using my skills to empower others, ensuring that everyone has the chance to redefine their narratives and pursue their passions.

Improving Relationships Between Law Enforcement and the African American Community
The relationship between law enforcement agencies and the African American population in the United States has been strained for many years. As someone who became a teenager during the "Black Lives Matter" movement, I have witnessed firsthand the challenges and the potential for change in this dynamic. My personal experiences, alongside the wisdom imparted by my grandfather, have shaped my understanding of what is necessary to improve these relationships.
Building Trust Through Community Engagement
One crucial step law enforcement agencies can take is fostering community engagement. During a Black Lives Matter walk that my grandfather took me to, I learned the importance of standing in solidarity with those who face injustice. My grandfather, one of the most inspiring men I've ever known, told me, "We stand with those we love, and we support them. Today is about loving people and letting them know that we see them, we hear them, and we stand with them." His words underscore the need for law enforcement to actively participate in community events, showing genuine support and solidarity.
Cultural Competency and Sensitivity Training
Another vital component is implementing cultural competency and sensitivity training for officers. My grandfather pastored the first interracial church in our town, emphasizing inclusion and understanding. Law enforcement can learn from this model by educating officers on the rich cultural histories and experiences of African American communities. This can help dismantle stereotypes and foster a more empathetic approach to policing.
Accountability and Transparency
To build trust, law enforcement agencies must also be transparent and accountable. The African American community has long suffered from systemic injustices, and improving transparency can help bridge the gap. Agencies should establish clear guidelines for accountability and ensure that officers who misuse their power face consequences. Open channels of communication for community members to express concerns and report misconduct are critical.
Collaborative Problem Solving
Lastly, creating platforms for collaborative problem solving can aid in relationship building. My favorite teacher, Mrs. McRae, a black woman, has been a role model in demonstrating how education and community leadership can transform lives. She pastors a church in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, a city with one of the highest crime rates, showing resilience and dedication to her community. Law enforcement agencies should work alongside community leaders like her to address systemic issues collaboratively, ensuring that solutions are reflective of community needs and insights.
In conclusion, improving relationships between law enforcement and the African American population requires a multifaceted approach grounded in trust, understanding, and collaboration. By embracing these principles, law enforcement agencies can begin to mend the fractured ties and work towards a more equitable society.

Throughout my life, I have had the privilege of honing various skills and stepping into leadership roles. I am an audio engineer at national events, a paid choreographer, and a professional aerialist specializing in silks. My love for capturing moments has also led me to become a photographer. In addition to my artistic pursuits, I have been the captain of my school's basketball team, volleyball team, cheerleading squad, and softball team. Leading these teams has taught me the importance of collaboration, resilience, and the power of encouragement.
My leadership extends beyond the sports arena. As the lead singer of my church's youth praise band and a leader in the Kids Church Ministry, I have found joy and purpose in guiding others in faith. These roles have not only strengthened my leadership skills but have also deepened my connection to my community.
One of the most significant acts of kindness I have undertaken was organizing a charity event to raise funds for a local family in need. This family had experienced a devastating house fire,
losing their home and belongings. Having witnessed my father's own near-fatal accident and the outpouring of support our family received, I felt compelled to pay it forward.
I rallied my basketball and volleyball teammates, church members, and community friends to assist in planning the event. We organized a series of performances, including my aerial silks act, and arranged for food and games to entertain attendees. The event was a resounding success, raising enough money to help the family rebuild their lives.
The impact of this act of kindness was profound. It highlighted the strength of community bonds and the power of collective action. More importantly, it taught me the value of empathy and the importance of using my skills and leadership roles to uplift others. Seeing the gratitude and relief on the faces of the family we helped was a humbling experience that reinforced my desire to continue serving others.
This act of kindness has significantly shaped my perspective on life and my future aspirations. It has solidified my commitment to becoming a professional writer, a dream that I hold dear amidst a family of pastors. Writing oers me a platform to share stories of resilience, compassion, and triumph. The experiences I've had, from gracefully performing on silks to assisting my mother in choreography at the age of twelve, provide a rich tapestry of narratives waiting to be shared.
My academic goals are driven by a desire to craft stories that resonate with diverse audiences. Attending Oral Roberts University will provide me with the tools and education I need to achieve these goals. I am eager to explore new ideas and engage in discussions that will broaden my horizons and enhance my writing skills.
In conclusion, my journey has been marked by a dedication to personal growth, leadership, and kindness. The experiences I've had, both challenging and rewarding, have shaped the person I am today. The Impact of "The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl" on Film and Literature
"The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl" is a film that, despite its humble beginnings, brings an imaginative world to life in a way that both defines and transcends the boundaries between film and literature. With its vibrant storytelling and dynamic visual effects, the movie offers a fresh perspective on how these two mediums can intersect. This film demonstrates the potential for movies to not only interpret but also enhance the narratives found in books, offering an immersive experience that sometimes the written word alone may not achieve.
Speechless Moments and Visual Wonders
Several elements of "The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl" left audiences speechless. The film's visual effects, particularly its use of 3D technology, created an enchanting world that was both fantastical and accessible. The vibrant colors and imaginative landscapes captured the essence of childhood dreams, bringing them to life in a way that was both captivating and groundbreaking at the time of its release.
The film also excelled in its ability to personify abstract concepts, such as dreams and imagination, through its characters and visuals. This approach mirrored the creative freedom often found in literature, where the only limits are those of the author's imagination. It highlighted how film can mimic the essence of a book while infusing it with a new level of vibrancy and immediacy.
Elevating the Story
While "The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl" does not directly adapt a specific book, it draws heavily from the concept of children's imaginative stories, akin to those found in literature. The film elevates this concept by adding a dimension of spectacle that books, constrained by the written word, cannot fully capture. The movie takes the imaginative scenarios typically reserved for the mind's eye and presents them in a way that allows audiences to experience the wonder and excitement firsthand.
Cast Performance and Directorial Vision
The cast's performance was instrumental in bringing the characters to life. Taylor Lautner as Sharkboy and Taylor Dooley as Lavagirl delivered performances that captured the youthful energy and limitless imagination of their characters. Their chemistry and commitment to their roles allowed viewers to fully engage with the story, making the characters' journey through the dream world both believable and relatable.
However, it was Director Robert Rodriguez's unique vision that truly made the film sparkle. His ability to merge childlike wonder with cutting-edge technology resulted in a production that was both innovative and nostalgic. Rodriguez's hands-on approach, which included designing much of the film's CGI and overseeing the creative process, ensured that the film maintained its whimsical tone while also pushing the boundaries of what family films could achieve.
Conclusion
In conclusion, "The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl" offers a compelling example of how film can transform and elevate literary concepts, infusing them with new life and perspective. Through its stunning visuals, engaging performances, and visionary direction, the movie not only mimics the imaginative spirit of children's literature but also enhances it, offering a vivid and immersive experience that leaves a lasting impression. This film serves as a testament to the power of storytelling across mediums, showcasing the unique strengths of both film and literature in creating worlds that inspire and captivate.

This choice highlights a belief in the power of genuine craftsmanship to elevate storytelling.
A Return to Cinematic Mastery

Redefining Victory Scholarship
Success is a concept that carries different meanings for different people. For me, success is not defined by accolades or trophies, but by the simple principle of doing the best you can with what you have. It is about making the most of every opportunity, regardless of the circumstances. Growing up in a very small school, I learned firsthand how to embody this definition of success.
Our school was so small that every student was welcomed onto sports teams with open arms. There were no tryouts; if you wanted to be on the team, you were in. This inclusivity was born out of necessity, as we even welcomed homeschool students to ensure we had enough numbers to field a team. I was drafted into Junior High sports as early as the fifth grade. The girls’ basketball team was short on players, and I was needed to help make up the numbers. Despite our best efforts, we didn’t win a single game that season.
In cheerleading, the story was much the same. I was brought onto the varsity squad around the sixth grade because they needed a flyer and enough girls to stunt. While initially overwhelming, these experiences taught me a valuable lesson: while I couldn't change my team or its circumstances, I could change my attitude. I decided to make the most of it and do the best I could with what I had.
By the time I reached my senior year, the situation had changed dramatically. Our girls’ basketball team transformed from a group just barely able to field a team to having a bench full of senior players. We even had younger players whose skills were so advanced that they were considered for the varsity team. We no longer needed numbers just to participate; we had talent that was undeniable. This year, we won more games than I can remember, and for the first time in our school’s history, we won our first game. It was a thrilling match that extended into a second overtime, and I was fortunate enough to score the winning point with one second to spare.
Similarly, our cheerleading squad grew from a necessity-driven group into a formidable team. By my senior year, we boasted close to 20 cheerleaders and three stunt groups, complete with tumblers leading the front. This growth was not just in numbers but in the spirit and commitment of the team. We had become more than just a group filling a requirement; we had become a team that supported and uplifted each other in every sense of the word.
The opportunity I am now considering holds the potential to continue this journey of growth and success. It offers a platform to build upon the lessons I have learned and further develop my skills and potential. This opportunity is not just a stepping stone but a significant leap towards achieving my broader goals.
By embracing this opportunity, I hope to harness the same determination and adaptability that I cultivated in my school years. It will allow me to work with diverse teams, learn from various experiences, and contribute positively to any group I am a part of. I aim to apply my belief that "when you are faithful with the little bit you have, it will always grow," to every challenge and opportunity I encounter.
Success for me is about growth, resilience, and making the most of every situation, no matter how small or challenging it may seem. It is about nurturing what you have and watching it blossom into something greater. This opportunity is a chance to continue that journey, and I am eager to embrace it with the same passion and commitment that has guided me thus far. By doing the best I can with what I have, I hope to achieve not only personal success but also inspire others to find success in their unique ways.
Success Beyond Borders
Opening Scene: A Life in Motion
The theater is a cavernous expanse, its grandeur only matched by the anticipation that fills it. As the lights dim, the murmured conversations of the audience fade into a reverent silence. Suddenly, the spotlight flickers to life, a beacon piercing the darkness to reveal a lone figure standing center stage. Her silhouette is a tapestry woven from dreams yet to be realized, each thread shimmering with potential. She stands poised, a young performer on the cusp of greatness, her presence commanding the attention of every soul in the room. The air is thick with expectation, the promise of untold stories waiting to be unfurled, and the audience collectively leans forward, eager for the magic to begin.
A Symphony of Skills
The scene transitions seamlessly to the heart of a bustling national event, a symphony of activity where she assumes the role of an Audio Engineer. She stands amidst a sea of equipment, her fingers dancing over the controls with the deftness of a seasoned maestro. Each adjustment she makes is precise, deliberate, her expertise crafting a soundscape that envelops the audience in an unforgettable experience. Her eyes are focused, her concentration unbreakable, as she weaves together the elements of sound into a cohesive whole. Nearby, a troupe of dancers moves in perfect synchrony, their bodies guided by her vision as a Paid Choreographer. She commands the rhythm, her creativity breathing life into their movements, each step a testament to her influence.
The stage transforms once more, and the sky opens up above her. Now, she is a Professional Aerialist, soaring gracefully against the canvas of blue. The silks are her companions, whispering tales of freedom and daring as they twist and turn with her acrobatic feats. The audience below is captivated, their eyes wide with awe as she defies gravity, her body a blend of strength and elegance. Each movement is calculated, yet fluid, a dance of defiance against the constraints of the earth.
Leadership and Passion
In an instant, the scene shifts to the echoing confines of a school gymnasium. Her voice rings out, clear and authoritative, as she leads her team with the confidence of a seasoned Captain. Basketball is her domain, but her leadership extends beyond the court to volleyball and cheerleading as well. Her tenacity and spirit are infectious, inspiring her teammates to push beyond their limits. Together, they chase victory, each game a chapter in her ever-evolving story of perseverance and camaraderie.
The setting changes to a church hall bathed in soft light, where her voice rises in song as the Praise & Worship Leader for the Youth Praise Band. The music she creates fills the space, a beacon of hope and connection that transcends the walls, uniting the congregation in shared reverence. Her role is more than musical; it is spiritual, as she guides the young with a nurturing spirit in the Kids Church Ministry. Her gentle hand and listening ear mark her as a mentor, her influence shaping the next generation with compassion and care.
Academic Horizons
The spotlight narrows, focusing on her unwavering determination as she stands at the threshold of Victory Christian School. Graduation is within reach, the culmination of years of hard work and dedication. Her eyes are set on the horizon, on the halls of Oral Roberts University, where new chapters and opportunities beckon her forward. The future is ripe with possibilities, and she is ready to embrace them with open arms.

As a professional aerialist, I have always admired athletes who push the boundaries of human potential, but Simone's journey transcends her sport, making her my favorite athlete to cheer for. Her decision to prioritize mental health during the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games and her triumphant return at the 2024 Paris Olympics stand as powerful testaments to her character.
Prioritizing Mental Health: A Bold Decision
During the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Simone Biles made headlines not for her medal count, but for her courageous decision to withdraw from several events to prioritize her mental health. Experiencing the "twisties," a condition that causes gymnasts to lose spatial awareness while in the air, Simone faced a terrifying challenge. As someone who works in the air, I am acutely aware of how disorientation can lead to disastrous consequences. The courage it took for Simone to step back from competition was monumental; she put her well-being above the pressure to perform, challenging the stigma surrounding mental health in sports.
Simone's decision sparked a global conversation about the importance of mental health, especially in high-pressure environments. It reminded us that athletes are human beings with vulnerabilities and that acknowledging these vulnerabilities is a strength, not a weakness. Her actions taught me and countless others that self-care is paramount, even when the world is watching.
The Comeback: A Story of Perseverance
Fast forward to the 2024 Paris Olympics, and Simone Biles returned to the world stage with a renewed sense of purpose. Her comeback was not just about reclaiming titles but about demonstrating the power of resilience and determination. Watching her perform with grace and confidence was nothing short of inspiring. She showed the world that setbacks do not define us; rather, it is how we rise from them that truly matters.

LeBron James Fan Scholarship
Why I Am a Fan of LeBron James
As the captain of my school's varsity basketball team, I've always looked up to players who exemplify excellent leadership and balance in their lives. LeBron James, to me, stands out as a paragon of these qualities. Having played on basketball teams since the 2nd grade and now coaching an Upward Basketball team, I've come to appreciate not just his skills on the court, but also his ability to inspire and lead by example.
Leadership on and off the Court
LeBron James has consistently demonstrated outstanding leadership throughout his career. His ability to galvanize his teammates, motivate them to perform beyond their limits, and orchestrate plays that capitalize on each player's strengths is remarkable. This is something I strive to emulate in my role as captain. When I lead my team, I aim to foster the same kind of unity and mutual respect that LeBron cultivates with his teammates. His leadership goes beyond mere words; it is evident in his actions, whether it's making a crucial pass or taking a stand for social issues.
Balancing Family and Basketball
What truly sets LeBron apart is how he balances his demanding career with his family life. Despite the pressures of being a globally recognized athlete, he prioritizes his role as a father and husband. This balance is a testament to his character and values. Watching him manage these aspects of his life has taught me the importance of maintaining equilibrium between my personal commitments and my passion for basketball. As I juggle my responsibilities as a student-athlete and a coach, I draw inspiration from LeBron's example to ensure I remain dedicated to both my family and my team.
The Greatest of All Time?
The debate over whether LeBron James is the greatest basketball player of all time is subjective and often heated. While there are arguments for legends like Michael Jordan or Kobe Bryant, LeBron's versatility, longevity, and impact on the game are undeniable. His ability to adapt to any position on the court, combined with his impressive statistical achievements, make a compelling case for his place in the G.O.A.T. conversation.
However, greatness in basketball isn't solely measured by stats or championships; it's also about the imprint a player leaves on the sport and the world. LeBron's influence extends far beyond basketball. His philanthropic efforts, such as opening the "I PROMISE School" for at-risk children, highlight his dedication to making a difference. This commitment to bettering his community resonates with my values and strengthens my admiration for him.
Conclusion
In conclusion, my admiration for LeBron James is rooted in his exemplary leadership, his ability to balance different facets of his life, and his profound impact both on and off the court. Whether he is the greatest basketball player of all time is a subjective consideration, but for me, his contributions to the sport and society make him a truly inspirational figure. As I continue my journey in basketball, both as a player and a coach, I will carry forward the lessons I've learned from watching LeBron James, striving to lead with integrity and purpose.

GUTS- Olivia Rodrigo Fan Scholarship
Navigating adolescence is a journey marked by intense emotions, self-discovery, and the often overwhelming pressure to succeed. Olivia Rodrigo's album GUTS encapsulates these themes beautifully, particularly in her song "Teenage Dream," where she addresses the weight of expectations that so many teenagers feel. One lyric, in particular, stands out, reflecting the essence of this tumultuous stage of life.
The Pressure of Expectations
During adolescence, the pressure to excel can be immense. Teenagers are bombarded with expectations from various sources—parents who want to see them succeed, teachers who push for academic excellence, and peers who often set standards for social acceptance. This constant barrage of expectations can create a pervasive fear of failure. In "Teenage Dream," Rodrigo masterfully conveys this struggle, articulating the anxiety that can accompany not just the pursuit of success but also the fear of falling short. The lyric resonates with anyone who has ever felt the burden of needing to be perfect, illuminating the internal battles many face during these formative years.
The Journey of Self-Discovery
However, adolescence is not solely about pressure; it’s also a critical time for self-discovery. As teenagers navigate new experiences, relationships, and choices, they are simultaneously trying to figure out who they are and who they want to become. This quest for identity is often accompanied by uncertainty and confusion, as young people grapple with their desires and societal expectations. Rodrigo’s lyric captures this internal conflict, portraying the delicate balance between striving to meet external standards and the innate desire to break free and carve out one’s own path. It reflects the reality that this period is not just about external achievements but also about understanding oneself and embracing individuality.
Embracing Imperfection
One of the most powerful messages embedded in Rodrigo's music is the importance of embracing imperfection. The lyric from GUTS serves as a poignant reminder that it is perfectly okay not to have everything figured out during adolescence. In a world that often glorifies perfection, her words encourage teenagers to accept their flaws and understand that personal growth comes from overcoming challenges and learning from mistakes. The journey of adolescence is filled with missteps and misjudgments, and it is through these experiences that young people develop resilience and a deeper understanding of themselves.
Conclusion
In conclusion, Olivia Rodrigo's GUTS offers a profound reflection on the teenage experience, encapsulating the pressures, uncertainties, and transformative nature of adolescence. The lyric from "Teenage Dream" poignantly highlights the struggle between meeting expectations and the journey toward self-acceptance. As teenagers navigate this challenging yet crucial stage of life, Rodrigo’s music serves as a comforting reminder that they are not alone in their experiences. The teenage years, while often fraught with challenges, are also a vital period of growth and transformation, where embracing imperfections can lead to a stronger sense of self. Ultimately, GUTS resonates with anyone who has ever felt the weight of adolescence, providing solace and understanding in an often overwhelming world.

As a child, like many others, I had dreams that sparkled with the allure of bright lights and applause. I envisioned myself as a performer, dancing on grand stages and captivating audiences with my grace and rhythm. However, life often has a way of evolving those dreams into something unexpected yet equally fulfilling. Today, I find myself on the path to becoming an entertainment lawyer, a journey that began with my early aspirations in the performing arts.
From a young age, dance was my world. At just 10 years old, I was given the unique opportunity to work alongside my mother as her assistant choreographer. By 16, I was choreographing national events, a testament to the dedication and love I had for the craft. Dance wasn't merely a hobby; it was a way of life, and I dreamed of making it my career.
While performing on stage was exhilarating, it was the behind-the-scenes experiences that truly shaped my future ambitions. Working as a photographer and stage assistant at a local music festival during my teenage years exposed me to a different side of the entertainment industry. My parents, deeply involved in the festival, often discussed the importance of contracts and legal obligations. I found myself intrigued by their conversations about riders and contractual details, like the amusing demand for bowls of blue M&Ms. This curiosity about the legal frameworks governing artists and events began to take root, steering my interests toward the legal aspects of entertainment.

As a child, being chosen for a commercial felt like an honor, but I soon realized the legal complexities behind such opportunities. The consent forms my parents signed for the use of my image and likeness fascinated me, revealing the critical role of contracts and intellectual property rights in the entertainment world. This realization deepened my interest in entertainment law, an area where creativity meets legal structure.
Determined to blend my artistic talents with a solid legal foundation, I chose to pursue a double major in writing with a pre-law emphasis and dance performance at Oral Roberts University. This academic path reflects my commitment to understanding both the artistic and legal dimensions of the entertainment industry. It equips me with a unique perspective, enabling me to navigate the challenges and opportunities within entertainment law effectively.
For over three years, I honed my skills as a professional aerialist, specializing in silks, lyra, and trapeze bar performances. This chapter of my life was not just about perfecting my art; it was about understanding the importance of safety, contractual negotiations, and liability issues inherent in performance arts. These lessons provided invaluable insights that will serve me well in my future career as an entertainment lawyer.
While my childhood dream was to be a performer, my journey has evolved into something profoundly rewarding. Faith has been the cornerstone of my life, guiding me through personal challenges and shaping my journey in profound ways. From my early years at Victory Christian School to my experiences within my family and community, faith has not only influenced my personal development but also inspired me to improve the lives of those around me. This essay will explore the impact of faith on my life through specific examples and outline my plans to continue making a positive difference in the future.
My journey of faith began at an early age, deeply rooted in my family's values and reinforced by my education at Victory Christian School. Attending this school from kindergarten through my anticipated graduation in May 2025 has been more than an academic endeavor; it has been a transformative experience that has shaped my character and worldview. Through daily prayer and a curriculum that integrates faith with learning, I have developed a solid moral foundation built on integrity, empathy, and respect for others.
My family has played a critical role in nurturing my faith. My grandfather, a pastor for over 50 years, has been a shining example of unwavering commitment to faith and service. His dedication to his congregation at Victory Church in Camden, AR, has left a lasting impact on me and our community. Likewise, my father, who manages the church’s media department, has taught me the importance of responsibility and service. Every Sunday, I would assist him with the church’s media outreach, learning valuable lessons about community support and teamwork.
Faith has inspired me to look beyond my own experiences and strive to improve the lives of others. Through various initiatives at Victory Christian School, such as organizing community service projects and participating in student leadership roles, I have sought to embody the values of compassion and service. One particular initiative involved volunteering at a local shelter, where I helped organize food drives and support services for those in need. These experiences have reinforced my commitment to using my faith as a catalyst for positive change.
As I pursue my educational goals, I am determined to continue making a meaningful impact. My experiences have equipped me with the skills and values necessary to inspire and uplift others. Whether through professional roles, community involvement, or personal interactions, I am committed to fostering an environment of integrity, kindness, and respect.
I plan to further this vision by mentoring younger students, sharing the lessons I have learned through my faith journey, and encouraging them to lead with compassion and empathy. Additionally, I hope to collaborate with others to create initiatives that promote social justice and equality, drawing upon the teachings of Christianity as a guiding force.
Faith has been a guiding force in my life, shaping my personal development and inspiring me to improve the lives of those around me. Through my education at Victory Christian School and the influence of my family, I have developed a strong moral foundation that will guide my future endeavors. As I look ahead, I am excited to leverage the lessons of faith to contribute positively to society, ensuring that the values of integrity, compassion, and service remain at the forefront of all I do.ing themes of strength and hope.

My community is Camden, Arkansas, a small town nestled in the heart of the Ouachita River. It's a place where everyone knows everyone, where the pace of life is slower, and where the sense of community is strong. I believe that "community" is more than just a geographical location; it's a shared sense of belonging, a network of support, and a commitment to working together to achieve common goals.
I've tried to make my community great by volunteering at the local food bank during the COVID Pandemic. My family's business owns a 20 foot box truck, and that was one of the missing pieces the state's food bank needed to supply our area with food. The other missing piece was a location. My grandfather loves any opportunity to serve, so he happily volunteered his church building to become the giveaway location for our area so that the state food bank could help our community. Camden is a town with a high poverty rate, and many families struggle to put food on the table. The food bank is a vital resource for Camden's families, providing them with the nourishment they need to survive. I started volunteering at the food bank when I was in middle school, and I've continued to do so throughout high school all while trying to bring a friend or two with me to strengthen our cause. I've helped sort food donations, pack boxes, and deliver food to families in need. It's been incredibly rewarding to see the impact that the food bank has on the lives of people in my community.
One of the biggest obstacles was the volume of needs. During COVID, the need was so great that we had to run a drive-through system to get the food to people. I spoke up and said that we should model our distribution after the Chick-fil-A drive-through. There were always more families in need of assistance than we had resources to help. It was often disheartening to see the long lines of people waiting for food, knowing that we couldn't help everyone. The food bank sent more, and we were able to facilitate everyone in line. This experience taught me the importance of perseverance and the power of teamwork. Making a difference in the lives of individual families will always be enough to keep me motivated.

Hello, my name is Elle Ables, and I am honored to share how my journey as a circus artist specializing in Silks, Lyra, and Trapeze has been profoundly influenced by personal mental and emotional challenges. These experiences have not only shaped my artistic expression but have also reinforced my belief in the power of art as a tool for navigating life's complexities.
My introduction to circus arts at the age of eleven coincided with a period of emotional turbulence. The gift of silks on my birthday became an unexpected sanctuary, offering solace and a constructive outlet for my emotions. The physicality and focus required in circus arts became a form of moving meditation, allowing me to channel my feelings into creative expression.
The COVID-19 pandemic, while isolating, amplified my emotional challenges but also provided an opportunity for introspection and artistic growth. With the world paused, I immersed myself in mastering new apparatuses, such as the Lyra and Trapeze, under the guidance of a supportive mentor. This time of solitude and practice was transformative, deepening my connection to my art and teaching me resilience.
Recognizing the therapeutic potential of circus arts, I aspire to share this with others who face their own challenges. Art has a unique capacity to heal and unite, offering a means to express what words often cannot. Through workshops and community performances, I aim to create inclusive spaces where individuals can explore their emotions and find empowerment through artistic expression.
I am thrilled to submit video examples of my work that embody my journey and passion:
"Resilience in Motion" on Silks – Performing on the Silks always captures the emotional rollercoaster of overcoming adversity, reflecting themes of strength and hope. You'll see in the many silks performances that it's always a climb. It's always uphill, then a thrilling drop or dive that leaves everyone on the edge of their seat.
"Circles of Connection" on Lyra – The Lyra explores the interconnectedness of human experiences, emphasizing unity and empathy. They Lyra is just like a circle: full of never ending possibilities.
"Boundless Horizons" on Trapeze Bar – Trapeze acts always inspire limitless possibilities of self-discovery and personal growth. Trapeze showcases tradition and reminds me of all the unique things that make me who I am.
When I'm flying high in the air, it's more than a performance; it is a testament to my ambition, drive, and unwavering passion for using art as a vehicle for change.
With a commitment to fostering inclusivity and diversity in the arts, I envision a future where circus arts are accessible to all. By collaborating with fellow artists and pushing the boundaries of traditional performances, I aim to inspire a new generation of circus artists and audiences alike. Through my work, I hope to contribute to a more connected and compassionate world, using art to bridge divides and foster understanding.

By 16, I was choreographing national events, an opportunity that not only fueled my passion but also laid the foundation for my future aspirations.
Throughout my teenage years, I remained actively involved in my community. The emotional toll was significant, but with my parents' support, we uncovered the truth, proving the claims were false.
This experience taught me resilience and the importance of standing up for oneself. It underscored the power of words and misinformation, particularly in the digital age. The student who falsely accused me eventually faced consequences for unrelated actions, emphasizing the importance of accountability.
Reflecting on my journey, I am committed to advocating for bullying awareness and prevention. My Goals and Plans for Achieving Them
Setting goals is a crucial part of personal and professional development. It provides direction, motivation, and a clear path to success. My primary goal is to establish a successful career in digital marketing, focusing on becoming a marketing strategist within the next five years. To achieve this, I have devised a comprehensive plan that includes acquiring the necessary education, gaining practical experience, and leveraging resources effectively.
Educational Goals
The foundation of my plan is education. I aim to complete a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, which will provide me with essential knowledge and skills. Enrolling in a reputable university with a strong marketing program is vital. My budget for this education is approximately $50,000, which I plan to cover through a combination of scholarships, part-time work, and student loans.
In addition to formal education, I intend to pursue online courses and certifications in digital marketing, such as Google Analytics and HubSpot certifications. These courses will cost around $1,000 and will be funded through savings from my part-time job. The flexibility of online courses allows me to study at my own pace, ensuring a balance between work and learning.
Gaining Experience
Experience is indispensable in the marketing field. My plan includes internships and part-time positions in marketing firms. I aim to secure an internship by my second year of college, which will provide hands-on experience and exposure to real-world marketing strategies. Networking is crucial in this step; hence, attending industry conferences and workshops will be a priority. These events, which cost approximately $500 annually, will be funded by setting aside a portion of my monthly earnings.
Building a Professional Network
Establishing a robust professional network is a critical component of my plan. I will actively engage with marketing clubs at my university and join professional organizations such as the American Marketing Association. These memberships will cost around $200 annually. I will also utilize LinkedIn to connect with industry professionals, participate in relevant discussions, and showcase my skills and achievements.
Developing Skills
In addition to formal education and experience, developing soft skills such as communication, problem-solving, and creativity is essential. I plan to enhance these skills through workshops, seminars, and self-study. I will dedicate at least five hours a week to reading industry-related books and articles, which will keep me informed about the latest trends and innovations in digital marketing.
Financial Planning
Achieving these goals requires careful financial planning. I have outlined a budget that covers my educational expenses, living costs, and professional development activities. By maintaining a part-time job during my studies, I will ensure a steady income stream to support my education and professional growth. Additionally, I plan to create an emergency fund to cover unforeseen expenses, ensuring financial stability throughout my journey.
Timing and Evaluation
Timing is a crucial factor in my plan. I have set specific milestones, such as completing my degree in four years, obtaining at least two internships by graduation, and achieving key certifications within the first three years. Regular evaluation of my progress will help me stay on track and make necessary adjustments. I plan to review my goals and achievements bi-annually, ensuring I am moving in the right direction.
In conclusion, my goal of becoming a marketing strategist is supported by a detailed plan that incorporates education, practical experience, networking, and skill development. By utilizing available resources wisely and maintaining a clear focus on my objectives, I am confident in my ability to achieve success in the dynamic field of digital marketing.
A Security Insurance Agency Scholarship
In recent years, states like Florida, California, and Texas have faced a significant challenge as insurance companies withdraw from their markets due to recurring natural disasters such as hurricanes, floods, and wildfires. This exodus has precipitated a rise in premiums, rendering homeowners' insurance unaffordable for many, particularly retirees and single parents. To tackle this issue effectively, we must devise a multifaceted solution that balances the needs of the insured, the insurance providers, and the insurance agencies.
One viable solution is the establishment of a state-backed insurance pool. This pool would function as a safety net, providing coverage to homeowners who are unable to secure affordable insurance through private companies. By spreading the risk across a larger base, the pool can maintain more stable premiums, which benefits both the insured and the insurance companies. The pool would be funded by a combination of state funds, federal assistance, and a small levy on insurance premiums, ensuring sustainability without placing undue financial pressure on any single entity.
Incentivizing homeowners to adopt preventive measures can significantly reduce risk and, consequently, premiums. Insurance companies can offer discounts to policyholders who invest in improvements such as reinforced roofing, flood barriers, or fire-resistant landscaping. Additionally, states can allocate funds for community-wide initiatives that enhance resilience, such as improving drainage systems or creating firebreaks. By reducing the likelihood of catastrophic damage, these measures make the market more attractive to insurance companies, potentially reversing their exodus.
Public-private partnerships can play a crucial role in addressing the insurance crisis. States can collaborate with insurance companies to develop innovative products tailored to the unique risks of their regions. For instance, parametric insurance, which pays out based on predefined events like wind speeds or rainfall levels, could be introduced as an alternative or supplement to traditional policies. This approach offers quicker payouts and reduces administrative costs, benefiting both insurers and policyholders.
Insurance agencies have a pivotal role in educating homeowners about their insurance options and the importance of coverage. By fostering transparent communication, agencies can help demystify the insurance process, ensuring that consumers are well-informed about the risks they face and the policies available to them. Agencies should also advocate for consumer-friendly practices, such as simplified policy language and clear explanations of coverage limits and exclusions.
Advancements in technology and data analytics can help insurance companies better assess risk and price policies accurately. By utilizing data from satellite imagery, IoT devices, and predictive modeling, insurers can develop more precise risk assessments and offer tailored coverage options. This approach not only improves the accuracy of underwriting but also allows for dynamic pricing models that can adapt to changing conditions, ultimately benefiting both insurers and consumers.
Seeking Federal Support and Legislative Action
Finally, federal support and legislative action are essential components of a comprehensive solution. The federal government can provide grants or low-interest loans to states for resilience-building projects and offer tax incentives for homeowners who invest in risk-reducing measures. Additionally, legislation that encourages the development of a national catastrophe fund could provide a backstop for insurers, reducing their financial exposure and encouraging them to remain in high-risk markets.
In conclusion, the insurance crisis in disaster-prone states requires a collaborative and innovative approach. By implementing state-backed insurance pools, encouraging preventive measures, fostering public-private partnerships, promoting transparency, leveraging technology, and seeking federal support, we can create a sustainable and equitable solution that benefits all stakeholders involved. Through collective effort and strategic planning, it is possible to restore stability to these markets and ensure that homeowners can obtain the protection they need.
