As a dedicated high school Senior with a passion for business and finance, I am excited to begin my journey toward a successful career in Accounting. Balancing rigorous academics at a college prep high school with active involvement in both Fall and Spring sports, various volunteer projects and extracurricular activities such as Student Council and Key Club, has developed my time management, leadership, and teamwork skills, preparing me well for future challenges in university academics and ultimately, in the business world.

Growing up in a Catholic family and attending Catholic school my whole life, I’ve been taught the importance of service, compassion, and responsibility—not just to God, but to my community and country. To me, being a good citizen means living those values every day. It’s about doing the right thing, even when no one is watching. It’s about treating others with respect, helping those in need, and standing up for what’s fair and just. A good citizen is someone who doesn’t only think about themselves but considers how their actions affect the world around them.
Being a good citizen also means being informed and involved. It means caring about what's happening in our country and our local communities. Whether it's volunteering, speaking up for others, or simply following the rules, every small action matters. We all play a part in shaping our society, and good citizenship is how we build a better future together.
That’s why voting is so important. It’s one of the most powerful ways we, as citizens, can make our voices heard. When we vote, we’re choosing the leaders who will represent our values, make laws, and protect our freedoms. If we don’t vote, we’re giving up that voice. We’re letting others make decisions for us. Our country was built on the idea that the people hold the power—not a king, not a dictator, but everyday citizens. Voting is how we keep that power alive. It’s how we hold our leaders accountable and ensure that our government stays of the people, by the people, and for the people.
To me, the Constitution is more than just an old document written by our Founding Fathers. It’s the foundation of our freedoms. It sets the rules for how our government works, protects our rights, and makes sure no one—no matter how powerful—is above the law. It’s what guarantees our freedom of religion, speech, and press. As a Catholic, I’m especially grateful for the First Amendment. It means I can practice my faith openly and freely, something not everyone around the world is able to do.
The Constitution reminds me that being American comes with both rights and responsibilities. It’s not just about what we’re allowed to do—it’s about what we’re expected to do to keep our country strong and free. That includes being honest, respectful, and involved. It includes voting, serving our communities, and standing up for justice. Both of my grandfathers served in the military, and we honor those who fight for our liberties and to protect what the Constitution has granted us.
In the end, being a good citizen means living out your values, caring about others, and using your voice. It means honoring the freedom we’ve been given by protecting it for others. And it means never forgetting that we all have a role to play in making our country the best it can be.
