I am pursuing a career in education because it has always been my dream to teach young children. I am recently divorced and want to better the life of my two children. Being a single mom working full time and going to school full time is hard but I know it will be worth it. My son inspires me, he is on the spectrum and has had a hard time with bullying at school. I want not only want my students to grow academically but also as good humans. I want to share love and respect in my classroom and teach every student that I come across that we are all equal and we should all love and respect each other no matter what. I hope to teach K-2nd grade. In the world we live in today I want my classroom to have compassion and understanding of all students especially those with disabilities. My students will know that I am a safe place for them to come to no matter what it is that they need. Going back to school has been great and I am so glad I took the chance to return to school after 20 years. I am working hard. Although, school is important my children are my first priority. I have managed to be on the President's List at school which I am so proud of. Teaching has always been a passion and I can not wait to be in my own classroom and make a difference in my student's lives. I volunteered many years while my children were in elementary school and I still had the drive to help kids and help them learn. My best friend is an educator and I love helping her in her classroom. I am not in this field for a paycheck I want to be a teacher that makes a difference. Although my marriage failed I am happy that it gave me the courage to go back to school and continue my education. I strive to be a great student even though I am the oldest in my classes. I already feel like I am in a classroom full of students because my classmates are all younger than me. I love to help people and I want to take pride in being that teacher that makes a difference, even if its just for one student. I thank you for the opportunity.
