In my first year as a full-time doctor of physical therapy student, I worked part-time as a pharmacy technician. Because of the intensity of classes and starting a clinical rotation, I made the decision to quit my job to focus on my studies, but it leaves me in a difficult financial situation. After earning my DPT degree, I plan on completing an acute care residency at Duke University. Attending a residency will provide me with additional training, didactic coursework, and experience to excel in the hospital setting. Afterward, I will bring the skills I gain from my residency back to my local community of rural North Georgia.
