Throughout my childhood, I experienced obstacles that played a key role in defining who I am. I was born in Houston Texas and went into foster care. My mother adopted me when I was only a few months old. In 2020 I relocated to Georgia and put in a lot of effort to build a better future for myself. As a high school senior, I am getting ready to go to Albany Technical College to study esthetics. I want to help people feel good about themselves fight against unrealistic beauty standards and increase confidence for those who have trouble with how they see themselves. I developed a strong interest in the beauty industry in eighth grade when I found out about influencers and beauty experts who motivated me. As I gained more knowledge I understood that the common beauty standards are often unrealistic and can be harmful. Many people especially young ones find it hard to feel good about themselves because of unrealistic standards set by social media and society. "I want to make that different." I want to make a place where people feel beautiful not because they fit a specific idea of beauty but because they accept and love themselves for who they are. For me, pursuing aesthetics is about more than just a career; it's about having an influence. Whether it's skincare procedures or just creating a welcoming atmosphere where people feel appreciated and recognized, I aim to offer services that boost self-esteem. I want to be that person for other people because I know how powerful it is to have someone believe in you. For me, this scholarship would mean the world. Higher education might be challenging due to financial constraints, despite my unwavering determination to succeed. My mother has always been my staunchest ally, helping me out wherever she could. Now, I want to give back to her as she has given to me. By pursuing a career in esthetics, I hope to create a stable and fulfilling future, not only for myself but also to support my mother in return. I am ready to work hard, make a difference, and build a career doing what I love. With this scholarship, I can take one step closer to achieving my dreams—helping others, redefining beauty, and proving that confidence comes from embracing who we truly are.
