Three years ago, I never imagined I would be where I am today. After more than a decade of addiction, trauma, and serious health challenges, I was given the opportunity to rebuild my life. I’ve tried not to waste a second chance I wasn’t always sure I would get. Today, I’m a substance use disorder clinician and MSW student at Lesley University, working full-time toward becoming an LICSW. Since entering recovery, I’ve returned to school, earned a 4.0 in my substance use counseling coursework, developed treatment programming, spoken at conferences, and joined projects exploring trauma-informed, ethical technology. I’m passionate about helping people build lives they actually want to live, not simply survive. My dream is to create holistic healing spaces where therapy exists alongside art, nature, movement, creativity, shared meals, and community—places where people can rediscover joy, autonomy, purpose, and belonging. Outside of work and school, I’m an artist, gardener, Lego builder, mythology lover, painfully slow reader, proud Hufflepuff, and human belonging to two cats. I love cooking, dancing in my kitchen, being outside, and bringing people together. Working full-time while paying for graduate school is difficult. Scholarships would help me bridge that financial gap and continue building the future I’ve worked incredibly hard for. More than anything, I want to turn my second chance outward and spend my life helping others feel seen, connected, and reminded that what they’ve survived doesn’t have to determine what they become.
