Healing Self and Community Scholarship
A contribution I would make to help people afford healthcare would be by making a petition to the government to make medical needs like crutches, inhalers, Epipens and etc. As well to make treatments and maternity care/ childbirth, unexpected surgeries free.
This would help people with asthma and allergies to have a better chance to live because the treatment and other medical expenses would be free. The way people can afford their medical needs without having to choose between their housing and material stuff or their medical bills. For example, in Canada healthcare is free and other places because they fund the healthcare by taxation and insurance contribution. which if the U.S. starts doing that they can make it better for the people besides the inflation already happening here.
Another way we could make healthcare affordable is by the community fundraising for the people that can't afford it. If we all get together and fundraise for healthcare and to make the medical bills and needs it'll become better from the world.
In summary, I think that fundraising and making a petition to the government would help the healthcare bills and medical bills as well as other medical expenses better and more affordable.

Hello, I'm a student from Texas High School, in my junior year. My name is Elizabeth but I'm a trans-male and go by Salvador. I come from a medium income or Low income family, we live day to day with enough to eat and be fine, but not to buy little stuff we crave or want everyday. I'm a proud child of Mexican parents who sacrificed everything to give me a better future than they had, so I'm taking every chance I have to make them proud and make it worth their sacrifices they have made for me.
My interest are in ceramics and expressive art, I love ceramics and the way we can create pieces and have meanings behind them, the person that got me into ceramics is my art teacher in Texas High School, she's a teacher that likes to encourage her students to make their best and prove themselves that they can do what the propose to themselves, I will miss her as she's moving this year but her encouragement will remain in my heart and used everyday so I can follow my dreams. I love expressive art because as a trans-male I can express how I feel trapped in a body that isn't mine and how I feel inside of my house that is supposed to be caring and accepting, or that I can express my hopes of taking every chance I get so my parent's sacrifices aren't in vain.
I believe that we are all equal, whether someone is gay, straight, trans, black, white etc.We all bleed the same color there is no need for wars, racism or homophobia.
I desire to become an art teacher like Ms. Galvan so I can teach kids and encourage them the same way that she has encouraged me.
