Bio

As a little girl, I knew I wanted to go to college to become an engineer, and then on to get my master’s degree. Looking back though, I had no idea what all that really meant. I had no conception of all the time, dedication, and perseverance it would take to get to where I am today. However, it’s looking back on how far I’ve come from being that little girl that proves to me that I’m more than ready, and even more dedicated, to accomplish my goals. My passion in life is helping others, especially those who cannot help themselves. My goal is to use the things I love, and the knowledge I possess, to better the lives of people around me. It’s this goal has brought me to graduate school, striving to reach my full potential, personally and academically, so that I may utilize my fascination with science and biology to make my impact on the world in the fields that I love – health care and technology. In the future, I hope to bring the efficiency and reliability of mainstream medical technology to the people living in under-served communities around the world, unable to gain access to western medicine due to cost, resource, or education barriers. However, despite my eagerness to get started, I know that I do not yet possess all the knowledge, tools, understanding, nor resources required for me to honestly say and believe that I am prepared to embark on such a journey. That is why I continuously strive to gain a better understanding of the world around me and the people in it by always asking questions and challenging myself to go farther and push harder than I think I can.
