Diana Wagner Memorial Scholarship
Dear Wagner Family,
I am writing to express my sincere gratitude for considering my application for the Diana Wagner Memorial Scholarship. It is with great excitement and determination that I share my aspirations and qualifications with you.
I have been an active member of my community since Intermediate school through volunteer work. Since the start of my freshman year, I’ve also been involved in my school’s council and sports. These experiences have not only taught me the value of teamwork, discipline, and perseverance but have also allowed me to cultivate a strong work ethic.
Another important facet of my journey is my dedication to community service. Throughout my four years in high school, I have been an active member of Student Leadership, participating in various service projects such as Pay to park for breast cancer awareness month. These experiences have taught me the value of giving back to my community and have reinforced my commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of those around me.
Examples of Community Service and School Involvement:
•Putting together meal bags for students
•Special Olympics
• Swim Lessons
• Trunk or Treat
• Thanksgiving and Christmas community Dinners
• Window Decorating and Clean up
• Blood Drive
• Swim Team
• Golf team
• Health Science
• Medical Terminology
• CNA
• Leadership (4 years as a class treasurer)
• Community Club
• Skills USA
I come from a family deeply committed to education and community involvement . Both of my parents are school administrators, and they have instilled in me the importance of education and service. Throughout my childhood each one has always played a major role such as being a booster club member or coaching sports. Their unwavering support and encouragement have played a significant role in shaping my values and goals. My community has influenced my future career in the medical field by helping me gain experience through volunteer work like the blood drive. I have met wonderful Nurses and doctors who are all passionate about their jobs and have inspired me to help people. Recently I have experienced a devastating loss in my family due to Stage four terminal Lung Cancer. My grandma Sally was so full of life and a very supportive person to everybody she knew. She created this incredible relationship with the people of Fernley and will be missed. Through her experience with cancer, she encouraged me to pursue a medical career and Talked highly of medical staff.
My future personal educational journey begins with the dream of becoming a registered nurse, a passion that has grown within me over the years. I plan to begin this journey at Truckee Meadows Community College, where I plan to complete their Nursing Program. Subsequently, my goal is to continue my education at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR), where I aspire to become either a Travel Nurse or a Nurse Anesthetist. This scholarship would be instrumental in helping me achieve these dreams and make a meaningful impact on the field of healthcare.
To prepare myself for this rewarding career, I have already taken significant steps. I have worked as a lifeguard, which not only taught me critical skills in emergency situations but also instilled in me a strong sense of responsibility and leadership. Additionally, I am currently enrolled in a Certified Nurse’s Assistant Course at Fernley High School, where I am gaining hands-on experience in patient care, further fueling my passion for nursing.
I believe that receiving the Diana Wagner Memorial Scholarship would not only be a tremendous honor but also a significant step toward realizing my dreams. I am determined to excel in my academic pursuits and continue my contributions to both my community and the field of nursing.
I am truly grateful for your consideration of my application and for the opportunity to share my goals and aspirations with you. If you have any further questions or require additional information, please feel free to contact me at [elliechapin@icloud.com] or [(775)404-2494].
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Ellie Chapin
