One of my many interests has been to be a three sport athlete in high school. I have achieved this goal in my senior year. The reason I have much interest in this is because it has pushed me physically, mentally and educationally. In order to play a sport, I have to be eligible. I have kept my grades up with them being the highest they have ever been through high school. During volleyball season, I had a grade point average of 3.4. During basketball I had a grade point average of 3.7 and now, during my current soccer season my goal is to keep my 3.7 grade point average or go above it. I believe I can do it because in the past I never thought this would be achievable for myself. I have proved myself wrong, I have pushed myself and set a path for my younger siblings to be inspired to do what I have done, or better. Not just for myself, my siblings but for my community. I come from a small town in Colorado with our population being 1,000 people. Being a three sport athlete is recognized by many outside of school. That is what I like, being noticed by people so they know they can do it too. Or being able to say I did it and having people support me with whatever I decide to do. My decision is to higher my education at the college level and play basketball in college. Having many interests is a lot of work but it definitely pays off. It will pay off once I am happy with the level of my education, complete and achieve my goal of playing basketball in high school and finally, coming back to my hometown to bring countless opportunities to my community youth. I want them to know that anything is possible as long as they are willing to put in the hard work. Something that has inspired me is to not give up. Sometimes I do get down but I get right back up after I realize that giving up is only going to set me back or make it longer for me to reach my goals. I would like to say that I have inspired myself to not give up but I would be wrong to not give any credit to my mother. She pushes me everyday to do my best while being an amazing support to all of my dreams and ambitions. She works hard to open doors and give me many opportunities in order succeed. While my mother provides a lot, so does my family. I have a very supportive family who believes in me with whatever I decide to do. They are all very strong and when I am down I know they are only one phone call away. This is something that is very important to me and I know to take advantage of because one day the support may not be there. Right now I have accomplished a lot with them being there along the way. For example, during my volleyball season we won regionals and got the opportunity to go up and compete at state and my mom, siblings, and auntie got to watch me and support my team. That was only one example out of many, I can not express my love for my family, myself and most importantly my mother. With them being there for my huge dreams and goals it makes me push harder, it makes me not want to give up.
