Bio

When I was four years old, my family and I moved from Arkansas to Ankara, Turkey. Moving from a city of millions of trees to a city of millions of people was a massive culture-shock. I spent all my life there, attending Oasis International School, until 2021, when I flew back to America and began attending the University of Arkansas. I am a “Third-Culture Kid” (TCK). I’m fully American, but I grew up in a completely different culture than my own, and was totally enveloped in learning that culture and sharing my own as well, when appropriate. I thoroughly enjoy Turkish culture and count it as my own. I share Turkish culture with my friends here at the University of Arkansas, and love learning more about Southern culture. I love speaking and teaching Turkish, as well as cooking and sharing Turkish dishes. One of my greatest passions is bringing people together. I truly believe that my unique upbringing has given me the special opportunity and the tools to connect contrasting cultures, and be a link between people who may have issues connecting. I put my whole heart into whatever I take part in. I am immensely outgoing, and am a friend to everyone I meet. I know how to play piano and guitar, and one of my life goals is to be in a successful band. Soon I will have a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Mathematics. Using this education, I will become a patent owner and found my own company.
