Bold Wise Words Scholarship
Whenever times get rough for me, I always stand by a popular saying: “Trust the process.” Although it may be hard to get through tough times, trusting the process has always done wonders for me. Throughout my life, I’ve had my fair share of atrocities, and although these atrocities may have brought me to my lowest points, trusting the process helped me push through and eventually live in moments of serenity. Trusting the process has made me experience a lot of personal growth and made me gain access to deeper insights - whether it be about myself or the environment around me. Trusting the process, for me, is trusting that my future is taken care of and that everything is meant to create a better version of myself. As someone who has applied this quote various times, I can say that I’ve been through many, many complicated situations that I never thought I would get out of, but with the help of these wise words, I’ve always seen this pattern of me getting into complicated situations and then bouncing back - all because I surrendered and let things unfold. I am fortunate enough to have been exposed to this quote because, without the quote, I possibly would not be at one of my most peaceful points today.
"Your Success" Youssef Scholarship
Throughout my high school career, I have discovered the value of exploring more about my passions and interests by seizing opportunities that behold me. I have found that I am a person who is captivated by many areas of study, including Women’s Studies, Computer Graphics, Psychology, Science, Business, Math, Law, and the English Language. In order to fulfill my captivation for these topics, I have been participating in many clubs at my high school, as well as applying for subject-related programs and internships. In terms of clubs, I have gained valuable experience through my school’s Video-Gaming/Computer Graphics Club, Curious Me Club, Psychology Club, “Be The First” Club, Chess Club, Physics Club, Chemistry Club, Key Club, and Make a Difference Club. I am also working as a proofreader for my school’s literary magazine and working as a writer for my school’s newspaper in order to further utilize my love for the English Language through literary works. When I’m not working to feed these interests, I run short-, mid-, and long-distance races for my school’s Cross-Country and Indoor Track Teams and volunteer at park clean-ups, canned food drives, and soup kitchens for Key Club and Make a Difference Club. I find joy in running, making others’ days, and conserving the beauty of nature.
Despite being involved in so many activities pertaining to a wide variety of fields of study, in terms of pursuing a career, my heart belongs more to the science and law fields. Personally, the two subjects are super fascinating to learn about. I feel that I should continue to fascinate myself by going for a future permanent job with these two subjects combined. Many friends of mine have helped me see that this is the route I should take whenever they remind me that I’m a very analytical and observant person, which are key characteristics that can be used to my advantage in this career path. At first, I didn’t know what kind of career would align with my interests, but luckily, in my sophomore year, I had taken a college preparation course, and this course helped me find the perfect career I could pursue: a forensic scientist.
In order to achieve this so-called dream career, I have been taking the necessary steps in achieving this by gaining as much experience in both the science and law fields through taking rigorous classes, applying for internships and programs, reading books relating to these fields, and participating in clubs. I have also been researching what it takes to become a forensic scientist, and what usually pops up is the notice that I need to at least have a bachelor’s degree in a science subject. With this information, it is reasonable to say that it is near impossible to become a forensic scientist without going to college. Achieving my goal of becoming a forensic scientist has added on to my reasons as to why I want to pursue higher education; I also want to experience the once-in-a-lifetime college experience while also becoming a more mature and sophisticated woman. I believe that college, or higher-level education in general, would be beneficial to my goal of feeding my interests and enhancing my knowledge on life’s wonders.
