Bio

I'm always interested in serving the community, so I'm pursuing to become a nurse. My desire to serve has led me to volunteer with Team Rubicon, a nonprofit disaster response organization, work in the EMS field as an EMT, and serve as a Safety Officer of a small city's emergency management team. I worked as an EMT, taking care of patients when COVID-19 broke out at the beginning of 2020. Later I transitioned to a wildland fire EMT during the summer. I provided emergency medical care for firefighters and conducted rapid extraction to rescue firefighters injured during wildland fires. When I worked for the City of El Segundo's emergency management team, I handled the city employees' COVID-19 cases. I was also in charge of coordinating and managing vaccination operations for the city. With all the experiences combined, I can think critically, collaborate with others, demonstrate leadership skills on the frontline, and provide services and care to people in need. My ultimate goal is to provide humanitarian aid, save lives and relieve suffering for the ones in need. I believe by becoming a nurse, I will be able to provide healthcare services to those affected by disasters, diseases, or conflicts globally.
