I’m a basketball player who’s trying to be a physical therapist for the New York Knicks. I don’t come from a lot of money and undergrad/grad school going to be seriously expensive. I would really appreciate anything because it all counts toward lowering my debt. Thanks so much.

Some goals I would like to accomplish through my education is to first become an athletic trainer. I would to help high school and college athletes succeed in their sport and be able to play with no injuries. Then I would like to pursue a PhD in Physical therapy and work under the New York Knicks as I do love basketball and that is my favorite team.
I would also want to grow a family but since working under the Knicks will cause me to travel a lot so I would like to work as a geriatric physical therapist. My parents have had injuries with their body and this has opened my eyes to the need of help towards geriatric patients. I would also like to be an athletic trainer for college as a side job as I see this as my passion enjoy what I do in it. I attend Piscataway Magnet School and I am enrolled in the Sports Medicine/Kinesiology class and from learning the anatomy of the body to doing hands-on work like taping ankles and giving rehabilitation workouts for injured people.
In the future I hope to go to college with minimal student loan debt as I don’t come from a high income family. I envision myself being a successful PT/AT doing my dream and being the best I can in what I enjoy. But for some minor goals I would like to get into Rutgers university as I have been working hard in high school maintaining a 3.9 GPA and joining SkillsUSA as a team captain. I would also like to get a solid job while getting through college and be able to save up for car. I would also as a senior in high school be able to volunteer in some PT clinics in order to get some experience to get myself ahead of my classmates in college.
As the class in my high school also gets me ahead I want to be prepared as college is a totally different place and lifestyle. I would also like to be able to get through college with minimal to no mistakes and be able to have enough relationships with people that once I finish college I will get a solid job and be able to build off the relationships and the job because to work in professional sports it takes serious work and I want to be prepared for the challenges that will come ahead.
Proverbs 3:27 Scholarship
I have grown up in church ever since I was a little kid. I enjoyed church quite a bit but as I got older I noticed my parents were severely burnt out after serving so much in many different ministries. Once I had seen this I was about 14 years old and decided to really give my life to the Lord and help my parents in their missions of serving in order for them to not be as burnt out. I currently am a teacher for the kids ministry in my church and an audio engineer in my church also. I attend my youth group often and my mother is a worship leader.
I would use this scholarship to pay for my grad school in order to get closer to my goal of working under the New York Knicks as an athletic trainer or physician. This money would seriously help because I don’t come from a lot of money as I am Hispanic. I don’t want to be in 100s of thousands of dollars in debt so this scholarship would really count.
