As the first in my family to attend college in the U.S., I know firsthand the challenges and possibilities that come with navigating higher education without a roadmap. At the University of Washington, I combined my passion for science and service through lab research, volunteer STEM tutoring, and as a Dream Project Intern, helping high school students access the resources they need to succeed. After earning my Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, I am currently working as a clinical research coordinator, advancing initiatives that increase participation of historically marginalized communities in research and ensure their voices shape healthcare decisions. As an incoming first-year medical student, I am eager to build on this foundation and ultimately serve underrepresented and low-income communities as a Physician. Outside of work and studies, I find balance through time with family and a good book.
