Japanese culture and language has always been a passion and interest of mine, to the point that I pursued it into my initial college years, taking any and all Japanese language courses available as well as some rather interesting cultural ones. My eventual goal after college is to get my TEFL certification and teach overseas in Japan. I've been on the receiving end of teachers that were only there to fill a role, or make it to another paycheck. It makes the learning process so much harder, knowing your teacher is not truly engaged with your class. If possible, I would love to bring something more to my future students, a real energy for teaching and seeing them learn under my care, much as my former Japanese instructors once did for me.
