I think that I want to study biology in college because I want to work in the health field. I want to become a surgeon and save lives one day. I'm extremely fascinated in the idea of being able to manually fix someones body as well as how the body and its parts work in general. I hope to learn a lot more than I already know and to work alongside my classmates to share ideas among one another. I strive to learn more about the health world because it ensures I am able to understand these topics and get the education I need to succeed in my future.

Education plays a big role in my life. Without education I wouldn't learn the necessary skills needed to get through life. The world is a big place full of wonder and mystery, and we as humans have to explore it. Throughout my life I had made mistakes, many of them have taught me important lessons. As I grow I can use my experiences to create a better mindset, grow as a person, and to teach others as well. Without education I wouldn't be able to take care of myself or become independent. School is a big source of education in my life. All my life that has been my top priority, staying educated, getting good grades, and working my way up to college. As someone who is interested in the medical field I strive to learn more about it every day. I hope to one day become a surgeon and save lives. I decided to take medical assisting classes in high school to prepare myself for my future career. Little did I know that this education would allow me to become a medical assistant by taking an exam when I turn 18. Having a basic understanding of certain topics is important when becoming an adult. Such topics may include politics, economics, history, how to pay taxes as well as bills. I try to understand these things so that I don't struggle when I go out into the world. As an adult I need to make decisions, therefore I need to have the knowledge to ensure I make the right ones.

My mom is someone I really look up to. She’s always been there for me and has done everything in her power to ensure my success in life. She’s kept me on the right track, helped me during hard times, and supported me and my dreams. She’s never given up on me, and she keeps fighting each and everyday. For this I am thankful for her, and proud that I can say I am her son! She is truly an inspirational woman. She takes care of six kids, makes sure they’re taking care of, and provides the best home life she can offer. Being able to do things around the house is hard enough as it is. The fact that she takes time out of her day to cook, clean, help with homework, make sure everyone is bathed, behaving, and doing their chores is a huge accomplishment. Many people may thing having two or three kids is a stressful challenge to take on, but my mother is a prime example that you can do anything you set your mind to. She stays positive and get things done. When it comes to being good people, she is constantly pushing that mindset. She wants us to be the best versions of ourselves, and to be the better person in every situation. This helps teach us how to react to certain situations and keep our cool when conflict has arisen. By insuring we know how to communicate with others and treat others with respect she is able to have peace of mind knowing we’re doing the right thing. I am an over thinker. Anytime I get into my own head or thing of the worst outcomes she is always there to reassure me everything is going to be great! I learned that if I focus on the negatives in life that I will never be happy. I feel more motivated and joyous after taking her wise words to heart. This has helped me reach my goals and not want to give up right away. Without this I wouldn’t be able to do what I set my mind to. All in all, my mother is someone I greatly appreciate and am thankful for. She’s such a good role model and a fantastic mother. She ensures that we have the best lives and succeed in life. I wouldn’t be who I am today without her. I wouldn’t trade her for anything else in the world.

My personal failure involved my academic performance at a young age. When I was in the fourth grade I had received a D in English on my report card. This was because I couldn't write an essay correctly. I didn't understand the layout, the paragraphs, and about the different types of essays. I had gotten an A in every other class except for this one, and it was unacceptable. I had to make a change in order to receive a better grade for the next semester. In order to perform better in English I had to study harder and ask the teacher for help. I would do extra essays assigned to me for practice. This helped me get better grades and a thorough understanding on essays. I started excel in class and saw improvement. Although, it wasn't until fifth grade that I had gain enough skill to be fluent in my work. I had started to receive A's on my assignments, and had maintained my work flow. I learned that if at first I don't succeed to always try again. I didn't want to give up completely and continue to struggle. Instead I did what I had to do to improve in my English. I also learned that practice makes perfect. In order to get good at something you have to practice. This helps you become more fluent and efficient at what you are doing. These two lessons had helped me in my life in order to succeed and do great at anything I work hard for and put my mind towards.

Moving across the United States halfway through my eighth grade year was one of the most difficult challenges I've ever faced. My father had left to work in Arizona while my family and I stayed at home in Pennsylvania to pack up the house. Meanwhile I was still in school and had other responsibilities to handle. When it came to school I had lots of homework to do. It was really stressful to have to do my work on top of my daily chores and packing. I am one of 5 children, meaning the household was quite hectic at times. With my father gone it had put a lot on my mother and I. I was the man of the house while he was gone, this meant I had to step up and do the things my father would have done. He was able to lift heavier things that I could, he was faster, and tall enough to reach things that were too high up for us. My mother didn't have my father's help so she had to parent on her own. I tried my best to do everything I could to make things easier for her. The morning of our move we had to wake up really early to get to the airport on time. We had gotten our luggage on the plane, and had a long flight. After we landed we had to get situated at my uncles house. We had to take all our luggage to the rooms we were staying in. I was exhausted from everything that had been going on that I wound up passing out in bed. With moving comes a new school. I had to leave all my friends behind halfway through the school year. This meant I had to get back on track when it came down to learning. My classes were all messed up and they had already learned what I was going to at home. This meant I had to adjust to the way things worked. I was really confused and struggled on tests and assignments. I didn't have any friends and had to make new ones. At first I had nobody to talk to and had to find the right people to hang out with. It took some time and patience to find the right people. Living in someone else's house for months is a nightmare. Eventually the people who own the house will get fed up with having so many people. Eight people in a house that usually has only three people is crowded. That makes a total of 11 people. I had to abide by their rules while under their roof. Life was really restricted and I had little freedom. There was lots of arguing and many distractions from my school work. From this experience I had learned that sometimes I have to step up to a challenge or problem I am faced with and find a solution. This will allow me to solve problems and be able to move on. In addition I had learned that family is everything. If we didn't work together we wouldn't have gotten anywhere. Also I had learned that hard work pays off. I felt like giving up, but in the end we got across the country at our new home. I also learned that people aren't always as they make themselves out to be.
