Anime Enthusiast Scholarship
To be completely honest, I have almost nothing that I can rewatch more than once before time has passed, and that's only with movies. For shows, it's even worse! I don't think I could rewatch the same episode or a couple of episodes unless I'm introducing the show to someone else.
If I had to choose though, I would say I can rewatch Ranma½ again. I love Rumiko Takahashi's work, she's one of my favorite mangaka (and Ranma½ is one of my favorite anime/manga), I can also rewatch Code Geass (it's also one of my favorites) and a few other smaller series like Glasslip, Toradora, Gundam (multiple series), and some more (I have an easier time rewatching slice of life/romance genre anime).
My favorite anime movie is Wolf Children!! I can definitely rewatch it, though time will still have to pass after a few watches, it's the first and currently only anime movie I've cried watching.
I don't really watch anime anymore nowadays, I read manga(hwa/hua) and novels. They are easier to reread than rewatching anime and it's a more personal feeling between the people who worked on it and me as a consumer.
For Ranma, its rewatchability comes not only from my love of the creator but also from the personality and uniqueness of the show and its characters. The story of a father/son martial artist duo getting cursed on their voyage and dealing with the sheer chaos that clings onto them? Pretty unique for sure. Add on a crazy love troupe of an arranged marriage to multiple suitors, an Amazonian marriage rite, magic, the curses previously mentioned, martial rivals, and crazy fighting powers well? Yeah, it's a fun ride, though sometimes irritating.
Code Geass is a cult classic, Lelouch Lamperouge, the mastermind strategist and Geass user. Playing both sides of a global war and living dual lives. I don't want to say too much about the anime I listed and the others aren't my first thoughts for rewatchability in my opinion so I won't get into them more. Thank you for this opportunity!
Live Music Lover Scholarship
Firstly, I'd like to point out that I am fairly new to the scene as far as concerts go. I've only been to 2 concerts to date but soon it will be 3! Both concerts were impactful and meaningful in their regards.
My first ever concert was a showing of one of my current favorite artists and I even got to meet him waiting outside the venue of his concert by chance! The entire atmosphere was not too foreign but it was a rush of energy and enthusiasm for sure. The opener for the concert left a big impact as well. They left that venue making sure I'd be tuning in for more and fanning out the next time they were on stage, and I left the concert with new music to overplay. That night I experienced more than just music. I truly experienced a conversation, not just with the main performing artist, but also with the full crowd of fans and even the other performers. I would never change that night unless I had the option of meet-and-greet tickets. After the show I even met with the opening DJ and had a conversation with him and his friends, they had never been to my city and had given the crowd and city great compliments, and also myself. Even after going to my most recent concert, I still say that there is no better first experience that I could have had.
Now the SECOND concert is just as amazing, but not for all the same reasons. This time it was a much more popular artist and a huge venue. Fully sold out and too many people to even fathom counting. This atmosphere, once again, was not something too unfamiliar, but unique. Many people dressed as albums and characters from the artist's discography. At the time, while I was a big fan, I hadn't listened to the newer music from that artist so it was more like a reclamation of my past. I felt a huge wave of nostalgia and felt like I had become more of myself (I don't know how to explain it). This concert had two opening artists, the first opening artist was honestly terrible in my opinion, but the second opener was great and I had already been a fan of them (went to the concert for the main artist and this opener). The production for this concert was also amazing, truly highlighted the night just as much as the music. While I didn't meet any of the openers or the main artist this time, the great performance and magnitude of the event (+ going with a few more friends) more than made up for that. Both concerts are held in my heart and are some of my best memories to date. I consider myself a concertgoer now and will be around for more!
The concerts that I attended were "The Perish Blue Tour" by Tobi Lou and "The Trilogy Tour" by Melanie Martinez.

Hello, my name is Donovan and I'm currently a Studio Arts major at Oakland University. I'm really into visual arts, I love drawing and I've been getting into other forms of art as well. Most notably painting and 3D arts like sculpting. My passion is my art, it is what I perceive to be my life direction and calling, I truly believe that it is my duty to be creative and support those who also wish to be creative.
After I graduate I hope to encourage youthful artists to pursue their passion of art like I have. I already work with youth organizations that prioritize mental health/healing and societal growth and safety, focusing on helping families and people with their trauma and other issues that we may be able to help with and also building the youth in a more healthy, clean, encouraging, interactive, safe, and united community. I also have worked with a youth organization that focused on the betterment of students and their schools. In this organization, we focused on things like graduation rates, curriculum, finding your major, abuse of power, finding funding for school, student engagement, etc. Through those experiences, I found out that I want to help young people and children figure out what they wish to do and if it is within the creative field then I will personally try my best to facilitate any needed materials and exposures where I can.
I major in Studio Arts but from what has been stated above, I have been considering a switch to Art Education. I do have a few special art pieces, my first Detroit Institute of Arts student exhibition entry is a really dear piece that I have created. Also a drawing of one of my favorite musical artists that I had met at one of his concerts, he had recognized me for my artwork and talked to me about it and some other videos I had taken during the concert. My favorite original character is instrumental to my love of art, I have a multitude of variations of this character that directly connect to his story. This character is actually one of the first purposeful drawings I had ever made and has changed so much throughout my life and eras of art and interests, it has been through a lot of story retcons and introduced me to creative writing as well, I've written comic strips and web novels telling a narrative of this character and it has driven me to where I am now.
The biggest opportunity and experience I got from my art is being able to go to the College for Creative Studies' senior exhibition event as a VIP guest. it was really an eye-opening experience and jaw-dropping, seeing the various artistic prowess in many different and unique styles was the best exposure I could get, especially since some of the students whose work was on display were there as well.

I really plan on getting more into the scene since I'm new to digital art. After I get well practiced in digital art I plan on visually conceptualizing the creative worlds that have inhibited my head in the digital space which allows more freedom and less space limitations as it is not physical sheets of paper. Through these ideas, I will bring entertainment and inspiration.

Creativity is in my blood, my granny was a retired elementary teacher who introduced me to arts and crafts and my father always pushed me to continue my passion in arts especially since it is something he partakes in and believes is important. My whole life I've been drawn to creative fields and found enjoyment and curiosity in them. I have been steered away from my passion in the arts, discouraged to pursue it and it had worked for awhile but art is something I had always gone back to, no matter what my situation had been. I truly believe it is a part of who I am and something I need to pursue.
Growing up in a single parent household for me was a bit different, I was raised mainly by my father with my older brother. Not having my mother fully present always seemed odd to me because most children had their moms whether single parent household or not. I went my whole life being talked to as if I lived with my mother and it did effect me a bit, I saw it as disrespectful to my father who'd raised me my whole life since he never or very rarely got his rightful recognition or praise for being my caretaker and parent. I often did correct people or let them know beforehand that I lived with my father, many people would ask why or how or say something similar when my single parent father was brought up, it made me feel like a bit of an outcast but I am and always have been proud of being raised by my father so it never was a resl issue, only mildly irritating with all of the mom talk and no discussion or recognition for fathers.
Being a man, getting assistance and help had veen very hard. He had to fight terribly hard to get disability since he couldn't work full-time due to his physical injuries, my brother and I even had to personally appear and speak to recieve disability and even then it had taken 2+ years on top of the previous 2 years. We'd become homeless before as well and there were no shelters allowing us in, he had to go to a men's shelter and find us a temporary home, at that time we'd stay with our mother and he'd stay in the shelter and pick us up everyday. Before he had been able to get into the shelter and move us in with our mother we had been living out of the car for about a week and he had stayed in the car for a few weeks. We'd eat at the men's shelter and my father's doctor's office sometimes because food stamp assistance had been denied at that time. It took a few years to get housing for us and he had to apply twice but we finally got housing when I started middle school. My father supported my art as best he could but we never had the financial freedom to get proper materials but he still found some way to encourage me and get me some materials so i could indulge, i hadn't really been able to actuallystart exploring different art media until high school. Seeing my father fight everyday through all of his Set backs and raising us and his encouragement makes me want to take my art serious and fight to reach my goals, I don't have a choice but to find out how high I can climb. This is what I enjoy and what I hope to do.
Maverick Grill and Saloon Scholarship
I consider myself a maverick because there is no set confines that limit me. I'm a person that fits in every group and by association can't fit in with any group. I'm a bit of a nomad I guess. I'm a bit free spirited, I'm a jack of many trades, and I do think myself talented in many things, if applied correctly i believe i can hold my ground anywhere.
Even in my social life I'm an eccentric persona, each friend group knows the same person but perceive me in slightly different ways. I enjoy the different perceptions and bask in the social fire I set ablaze. I'm like water, always flowing, always going, and probably unavoidable as well. I stay on the move, always busy with something new wether it's for recreation or academics and work.
My mind is a weird place, I'm no psychologist so I can't say I'm different, but, I do think I perceive things differently than the normal person. I have a scatter brain. I can jump all over the place mentally and I can be really focused on something I'm drawn to or passionate about. I probably have adhd I really want to get an evaluation (I will, just really in mental conflict about it currently. Don't know how to go about it.).
I love helping children, I am and have been involved in multiple community based organizations and youth organizations (Detroit Heals Detroit, PPM Detroit, Eastside Community Network Teen Advisory Council,
PAL, many collaborations, etc.) I've coached drones for children, done art tables and chaperoned children at many events. Helping and understanding children is something I plan to do no matter what happens in my life.
As a person who aspires to work in the creative field my primary plan for the future is to help youths are through artist funds for materials so young artists can experience and thrive with quality and experience a variety of different media arts to expand their creativity and skill set. I would also like to have an artist scholarship fund for young artists pursuing higher education. I find it really important to produce a variety and quality materials for young artists because I grew up with inadequate materials and a lack of variety and it really did dampen my drive and growth, experiencing new things, different art forms, and other experiences has shown me just how closed in I've been and even enriched my dried up creative pool. I want no young artist to lose their drive and be completely snuffed out like I almost had been.
Dema Dimbaya Humanitarianism and Disaster Relief Scholarship
What brought me to community service is my own life and experiences. I have received help through community service and I've always participated in community service. I grew up passing out food at church and at my Boy's and Girl's Club, I've always enjoyed giving back and working within my community. Throughout my whole life I've been around community service, wether it my own family, churches, clubs, organizations, etc. It seems like a natural transition to me honestly, helping people (especially children) gives a great feeling and makes me feel accomplished, seeing them happy and grow leaves a great feeling.
Youth activism and my artistic life plans had reinstated me into community service. In 9th grade my art teacher had given me the opportunity to help out in painting a mural in my city (Detroit). The mural was an effort of social awareness of the racism and oppression of Black Americans and a homage to the "Black Lives Matter" street mural in Washington DC. The organization that headed the project was Detroit Heals Detroit which is an organization based in Detroit that deals with mental health, trauma, and more in youth in Detroit. They also deal with community development and community involvement. During the Mural event where we painted "Power To The People" onto the street of Woodward in the downtown area, I had joined the organization and has been involved deeper into community service. Along the years with DHD (Detroit Heals Detroit) I've helped many Detroit residents and received a great deal of help and familial comfort. I've collaborated with a lot of other youth lead community organizations and headed projects with them.
Through school I had joined Eastside Community Network (ECN) through their Teen Advisory Council (TAC), this group primarily focuses on the betterment of DPSCD (Detroit Public Schools Community District) and allowing the voice of teens and students to be projected to a higher level and recognized. I participated in TAC for roughly one academic year. Participating in youth lead discussions about Detroit's public schooling and in podcasts about news in Detroit where we voiced our opinions on certain topics (Authentically Detroit). I also had been selected to be a teen representative in their Eastside Climate Action Coalition (ECAC)(name may have changed) where discussions about the community value, homeowner info, climate info, weathering, etc.
I also am a member of PPM Detroit (Peace & Prosperity Movement Detroit) where our goal is to enrich our communities for youth to grow and be inspired by positive imagery and prosper in safe communities. With PPM Detroit I have taken part in collaborations, community clean ups, etc.
With my extensive connection with community service I never plan to stop what I'm doing for my community/ies. I plan to create a dog sanctuary if possible and an artist fund for children who need materials and scholarship pools.

The dream version of myself is a strong man who cares for his family and his community, being able to keep the youth engaged in productivity and embraced by a clean and creative environment. I would like to give back to the children of the future and make their lives a bit easier with my experience and (if applicable) my resources, prepare them for a career of their interest and support them through any hurdles they encounter. I would also wish to give a voice to the children and allow them council on their issues and interests
