Bio

Hello! My name is Donna O’Flaherty, and I am from Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. I am currently a senior at Wando High School, where I will be graduating from in early June of 2022. My goal in life is to become a nurse practitioner as I have been fascinated by medicine since a young age. When I graduate high school, I plan to attend the University of South Carolina as a Pre-Nursing major. I would love to then attend their nursing program and earn my BSN and MSN. My greatest passion in life is to help people in any way I can. I was inspired to pursue a career in the medical field by my own personal encounter with healthcare professionals when being diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 16. Their kindness and support during this very difficult time in my life motivated me to provide others with the same aid in my future. I am a great candidate because I am kind, very determined, and love to learn and improve. Receiving a scholarship from Bold.org would mean the world to me. Being awarded a scholarship would allow me to achieve my goals and improve the lives of others in a significant and meaningful way.
