I was born into a life of hard work. From as early as my mind could recall, all I saw was my family working. My mother would work 5 to 4 before coming home and taking care of me and my siblings, With my brother trying to support her by taking shifts at any job he could find white juggling school. I was born into that life, with the examples placed in front of me I was bred and shaped to be better, always striving to be more than what I was. My life not only gave me the trait of being relentless in my work but also taught me the value of generosity. You see, watching the people around you work all your life makes you want to work harder to make them happy, to repay them back and help them in return. That's what motivates me to keep pushing forward and my reason to pursue this trade of electrical. Knowing that it is up to me to help those who’ve supported me. As a sign of respect to them, I also feel a responsibility to help others around me. From a young age, I remember I had to be looked after. I felt as though I was always being taken care of, but I wanted to change that. I wanted to be the one to help and not the one being helped, I would always ask myself “ how can I repay my mother back?’’. So I worked as hard as I could, searching for ways to give back. I took on the responsibility from an early age, helping in the only way I knew—by working. I hate seeing my mom suffer from the work and responsibilities she placed upon herself to provide for us. It gave me strength and courage to help her. So, I joined her in working at the same restaurant. Providing a little extra for her and lending a hand with the bills and struggles she faced was the only way I could think of to help. Yes, the process was difficult —trying to balance work with school and soccer, dealing with long shifts, being exhausted, and handling rude and unsatisfied customers, all while my manager was always on my case. There were even times where I thought if I was doing enough to help her. but in the end, seeing my mom a little less stressed about taking care of me and managing money was worth it. Her well being motivated me to keep helping. Knowing that she was more at peace because of what I did gave me a sense of fulfillment. From those days on, I kept searching for that satisfaction—knowing that I could help and make a difference in the environment I was in. So, when it came to choosing a long term career, becoming an electrician was a no brainer. To me, becoming an electrician is more than just wiring plugs; It was a way of helping others. While my interest and passion for becoming an electrician have always been within me, helping people is what fueled that passion. Knowing that when people have a problem, they can count on me to fix it —there’s no better feeling. I used to think I wasn't doing enough when trying to help. But through the process of working, I’ve finally realized that simply trying and working hard was enough. That is what I intend to do with this trade: work hard and help others.

The skilled trade that I wish to study and pursue is electrical work. I have chosen this trade because it combines two passions of mine: one is the ability to solve complex problems and situations, and being able to work with one of the most fundamental forces in the world which is electricity. Ever since I was little I've always loved fixing toys and other broken objects around the house. I also enjoyed playing with puzzles and although the challenged my mind, they gave me a sense of satisfaction when completed. I noticed that knowing I could solve problems that others couldn't give me fulfillment. Therefore, being able to work in the electrical field, where there a puzzles and problems to solve every day would be a dream of mine My interest in electrical work however, was sparked when I worked in the summer of 2022. I remember it like it was yesterday. I was 15 at the time working my 9-5 job at a fast food restaurant. I was taking orders as usual, pressing buttons like crazy to get through rush hour. Somewhere along the way, amidst all those orders and dealing with unhappy customers, a man came in wearing a bright yellow vest and a white hard hat. I took his order like I would any other customer, but he didn't look like anyone else. He looked like somebody. As I was preparing his food, I could feel him watching me as if he were inspecting how I was working. I gave him his food and he looked at me with admiration before asking” How old are you?” “15, sir” I responded. That look of admiration quickly evolved into a look of disbelief and excitement. He told me.” I appreciate you working so hard at such a young age. You should be proud of yourself, young man”. I responded with a grateful tone.” Thank you” But before he left, he looked me straight in the eyes and said,” When you turn 18, join the union or a trade school and get out of this place.” Those words took me into this rabbit hole of researching and trying to learn everything I could about being an electrician And I Immediately knew that being an electrician was the career for me. My desire to pursue this trade is fueled by a genuine passion for the field, the jobs and opportunities it holds, and the person you can grow to become through the trade. Through continuous learning, hard work , and dedication, I know I will be able to accomplish and achieve the goals I have set for myself in the field. By doing so, I will not only benefit myself but also contribute to the industry. Being able to carry out my work with quality, contribute to the industry, and become a man with a great profession, working in a field I love will make me a positive influence on those around me through this career and this is what my stamp of success is in this trade. My pursuit of fulfillment will guide me in the direction of success in all aspects of being a great electrician

I've always known about trades, but I guess I never really thought how someone could be so proud of having a career in one, like that man in the yellow vest. I looked more into trades and spent most of my free time going down this rabbit hole, trying to find the right one for me. That's when I discovered the trade of electrical work. To most people, it may look like just connecting one wire to another. But from the moment I learned about the profession of being an electrician, I fell in love. The idea of being able to create something with my own two hands and solve problems that only I knew the answer to felt incredibly fulfilling. I was raised by my single mother, who always taught me to be hardworking in everything I do, and eventually, it would pay off. So, I worked hard in school, on the soccer field, and at my job. I always knew I had to work hard, but I never fully figured out which career to apply that work ethic to. I felt lost, like I didn't know where I was going in life. While everyone else already had their dream career planned out, the only thing I knew was that I had to work hard. so , ironically it did pay off because of that one fateful day when a man noticed the hard work I was putting in. His words opened a door and led me to realize who I wanted to become. I wanted to be a Somebody like that man with the white hard hat and bright yellow vest. I wanted to work with my hands and create something. I finally learned that I wanted to be an electrician. I am applying for this scholarship because with its help, I can continue my pursuit in becoming an electrician and further my education in this career. I know i will be successful in this trade because my work ethic and determination go hand and hand with becoming an electrician, and I would be beyond grateful to receive this scholarship
