Bio

I am an Black American junior in college from Katy, TX. I love to read books and watch tv shows both about sci-fi, adventure, crimes, and thrillers. I have a lot of family everywhere in the world, but we mainly originated from Jamaica. I have 3 siblings, 2 older brothers, and a little sister. I've been dancing since I was three, and I do it competitively now with my school and formerly in-studio. My 2 favorite styles is dance in ministry and tap dancing. I am also a huge fan of dogs and have 2 of my own, Dr.Pepper and Pepsi! I have many dreams and goals for my life including learning cinematography, but mainly becoming a clinical psychologist and help people with counseling. I also want to create a business that helps homeless people get homes and jobs. I love helping people in anyway I can.

The name of this drawing is Anointed Warrior. Throughout my high school career, I have had many ups and many downs, and even so, I have been able to push forward and be blessed by God and His Word. This piece was inspired by the Virtuous Woman verse in Proverbs; the idea of a strong woman who takes care of her family who is strong and humble. In the piece, you can see a woman with dark skin and large powerful angel wings. Her head is tilted up to signify, in the smallest detail, her unwavering confidence. Her skin and hair were very important to me in which they were designed. Angels are commonly drawn with white skin and straight, maybe a little curly hair, and I am never able to truly see me in them so I drew my warrior angel to look like me and how I feel in the presence of God.

I am an African American high school Junior from Katy, TX. I am originally from Atlanta, Georgia but I moved when I was 6. I'm a big dreamer. I dream that I will be able to direct and produce films and tv shows that help teach other people something new or about some history and facts that aren't taught in school. For example black culture. In school, the main focus we get for black people are the struggles that we have had to endure from slavery and racism. I am not saying that we shouldn't be taught about slavery, because that is very necessary. However, when you teach a black child that their history was only struggles and hard times, they are going to believe that that is all there is for them. Which is not true. Everyone, not just black kids, should be taught about the Harlem Renaissance, and people like Alvin Ailey, and Bessie Coleman. The success stories about African Americans that are not told enough or at all. I can do that by making films. I also dream that one day I will be able to open a business that helps homeless and jobless people get homes and jobs, and become successful. There are too many people on the streets that don't get the help they need or deserve. I want to be able to influence rich people that have the luxury of having the ability to buy multiple homes for themselves, to help out the people who can't even afford a bed to lay on. But I also want to help personally by creating the business, because helping people gives joy like no other.
