Being the youngest alongside 4 older brothers in my family, I've always been “the accused,” something goes missing, “its Destiny,” something didn't go a certain way, “its Destiny.” Growing up where nobody ever wanted to listen to my truths has always been hard. It has always been difficult defending myself which built a wall between my family and I. It made me put little trust in those who had no trust in me. I grew up having to be cautious in my own home knowing any little thing or action could go against me. It motivated me to stand up for myself because nobody else will, to speak up on issues that I don't think are correct instead of turning a blind eye, to help those who are also being falsely accused and have nobody to speak up for them. Even though I am still “the accused” in my household. That doesn’t mean I will sit back and watch as others become “the accused” too. I have learned that with a little digging and a little seeking, your name can be cleared in a matter of seconds. I want to help other people clear their name so they don't feel so alone which has sparked my career interest. Now I have the mindset that if people want to say, "nobody else would do that but you," they are going to have to say that about your drive, your work ethic, your never-quit-attitude, and my future success.

Being a lawyer would be like finally accepting myself and overcoming hurdles to become a strong and successful black woman in society who doesn't need anybody to fight her battles. I want to major in political science or child psychology because it surrounds the bases of my career choice.My biggest Goal when it comes to entering College is that I go to a HBCU which is a predominantly black institution. It has always been my dream and I had to sacrifice much of my childhood and freetimes to try to get accepted into these schools. That means during summers when everyone was having fun and going on vacations, I was taking Summer College classes. I was also working like crazy to try to pay off school and put as much money in my savings just in case the school's prices were too high. I want to do college full time and then do a four year law school and take the LSAT when I'm confident.
