Linda "Noni" Anderson Memorial Music & Arts Scholarship
My life has always been driven by music since I play the violin. I moved in with my father, whom I hardly knew, in 2020 when I was 17 years old after my mother passed away from Covid problems. Seeing his enthusiasm for music creation gave me the courage to pursue music production as a profession. My motivation for all things musical has been fueled by my late mother's interest in my skill and the passing of the musical gene to my father. The fact that music is not just a pastime for me; it is a way of life is one of the qualifications that makes me a strong contender for the scholarship. Since I was a young child, I've been creating music, and the flame inside of me never goes out. As a musician who is deeply committed in the process of making music, I am not just connected to a variety of musical genres. The scholarship will be crucial in assisting me in realizing my aspirations in music production as a multiracial, body-positive inner-city teenager. As a leader, acquiring the necessary information from business experts through this program would validate my academic background and inspire others. Growing up in a place where no one else looked like me and achieving such a successful scholarship will allow me to produce music that, in the future, will serve as an inspiration and soundtrack for harmony, forward-thinking, and peace in the neighborhood I was up in. This scholarship's financial component gives me the freedom to keep working toward my future education without worrying about how I will pay for it. That might not be a life element for some people, but for me, it's a lifeline. In conclusion, as a young child, I always pondered what someone's definition of "passion" was. I once saw an internet article about a famous person who had a "passion" for singing and how it had helped them become a better version of themselves. Until I became engrossed in the realm of music, I never imagined I would discover such a thing. I can recall a moment when I was a fourth-grader and started at a new school. I wasn't interested in anything academic, so it was a terrible trip. Writing and reading required too much effort, studying seemed to take forever, and being socially uncomfortable was not helpful. The second annual music assembly followed, which was a miracle. The audience was calmed by the delightful elegance that the sounds that I had never heard before filled the air with. I was in love with Mozart, the violin, and music the moment I caught a glimpse of the person playing those notes. Opportunities don't appear unless you pursue them, and I've come to know how difficult it can be to connect with people in the business and find mentoring. I want to contribute my time, effort, and talent to this business while gaining knowledge and access to resources for professionals. The audience was calmed by the delightful elegance that the sounds that I had never heard before filled the air with. Music has always been a motivating force in my life as a violinist. I lost my mother to Covid complications in 2020, at the age of 17, and was shifted to live with my father, whom I scarcely knew. Seeing his enthusiasm for making music inspired me to pursue music producing as a professional career. My late mother's interest in my potential, combined with my dad's generational talent, has guided me down a motivated route to all things music. One of the attributes that makes me a worthy match for the scholarship is that music is my life, not a pastime. I've been composing music since I was a child, and the fire within me never dies. I am not just connected to various types of music, but I am also an artist who is deeply committed in how it is developed. As a multiracial, body-positive inner-city teenager, the scholarship will be critical in assisting me in achieving my music production ambitions. As a leader, getting sufficient knowledge from industry professionals through this program would legitimize my academic experience and allow me to motivate others. Growing up in a community where no one looked like me and receiving such an impressive scholarship will allow me to make music that will one day be the inspiration and soundtrack to peace, forward-thinking, and peaceful cooperation within the community in which I was raised. The financial part of this scholarship allows me to continue planning for my future education without having to worry about how I will pay for it. Opportunities don't shine unless you strive for them. I never thought I could get to where I am without working hard. I applied to as many jobs as possible to pay my bills. Being alone with no financial or college-supporting family, It was time to record my path. I spent my nights studying and researching what it takes to succeed in the music industry. The most challenging objective in the industry is finding connections and getting your name out there. With the program's help, I can push farther past the limits I seem bound to. Through those connections, I'll be gaining experience and knowledge about the industry, But before I can even get there comes the college student's worst enemy: tuition. I would pay money from my pocket to lower the fees. Also with the help of the program, I can attend webinars about the industry and learn what it takes to grow into your career.

Chang Heaton Scholarship for Music Excellence
I always wondered as a child what the meaning of passion meant to someone. I've always read the stories in articles about celebrities singing and saying it's their "passion" and how it makes them grow into a better version of themselves. I never thought I would find that spark to ignite my passion until I found myself drawn to the world of music and the sudden decline of my mother's health. School didn't interest offer until the 2nd assembly of the 1st week of school. I dragged my feet, brain filled with nothing but empty thoughts and a large pit in my stomach to the loud auditorium. The assembly started as usual, boring, educational, and uneventful. I began to fall asleep until I heard noises that I'd never heard before. It was blissful and its elegance made you feel tranquility. I scouted the room to see where the source of those amazing sounds was. I looked to the person playing those notes of wonder before looking down at the actual thing creating them: the violin. I was astounded at how many various sounds you could make on the violin and the many genres of music you could play on it. From that moment forwards, I found the spark to ignite me toward my passion for playing the violin and also my love for music. As a kid my mom was there for me, lifted my spirits when I was down, provided my siblings and me with the materials we needed, and the advice to give to help us make our decisions. As her health declined, I started to practice and realized my goal: to make her proud and she became my determination. As I start to play I wasn't the best and I quickly became depressed and hopeless but, my mother told me not to be discouraged and to keep trying. I slowly became better. With every song, I practiced for hours on end, any note I played wrong I stopped and took a breath to relax. When I was assigned to work on a scale I worked on it until it sounded right. I needed to keep on playing even if I get it wrong. When I play it lifts my spirits and showed me a world full of opportunities and different communities. A few years later and I was blasted right into high school: the era of friends, mistakes, and the beginning of deciding your career. I knew music was the choice for my carrier but didn't know where exactly. I felt lost and didn't know what to choose until I discovered musicals and theater. I heard about pit orchestra rehearsals for the musical called fiddler on the roof and decided to give it a shot. As I started to play the Opening song "Tradition" I began to fall in love with the music, the soft and elegant melody's to the loud, booming sound of the drums and the harmonies of the actors singing made me realize: this is my passion. I felt determined to play my heart and soul out to contribute in the pit and create the music that sets the scene for the actors to give it their all. I grew close to the members of the drama club. I felt like I was at home and had a family to trust. I found I liked musicals from the somber Rent to the upbeat Hairspray I felt attached to all the songs. From every note, song, and musical I always think of my mom and how she told me to never stray from my passion.
