Recovery is something big for me because I struggled with substance abuse for 2 years during my late teen years. This time was very vital for me because during this time I was struggling with severe anxiety and depression and my life was only going to get harder with the new transition of adult life quickly approaching. I stayed up countless nights researching how to overcome this battle within my mind because that is what addiction is. After I established the strength I had over my mind, I took the first step in the right direction when I decided I no longer wanted to live that life anymore. Now I am a Sophomore at my dream school studying to be a Nurse with a 3.0 gpa! Just a year ago this path seemed far from possible. I am here to advocate this!
