This reminds me of myself. I felt like an outcast my entire life. However, I decided to take the high road and pursue nursing. I remember COVID being the "spider bite" that plagued our society. However, I was determined to be the hero to help save as many people as I could while working as an LPN. Throughout the movie, Spider-Man did have to make alterations to his suit, so that he could perform better. By going back to school, I am making alterations in my performance. I want to show people that there are other options and it is never too late to change how the story unfolds. I have learned to give life a shot and realize there will be failures and there will be times we don't succeed, but we have to keep going. One thing I learned about a dream is that you must first define what your dream is. This is figuring out what the dream is, what steps I need to take to achieve it, and how long will it take to achieve this dream. I find it helpful to write down a list of things I want to accomplish and set a realistic goal to achieve it. If I could have everyone read one book in the world it would be "Life of Pi." It is an epic story about a young boy named Pi who loses his family, friends, and the love of his life while stranded at sea after a shipwreck. After the shipwreck, he is stranded with a Bengal tiger that he is forced to train and protect for survival. The story is both thrilling and touching because in some aspects he is relatable on a personal and spiritual level. It presents the underlying theme that you will believe in something greater than yourself after reading this story. This story is a good example of spirituality, faith, and survival. He compares his imagination with reality to show people that the characters of a story can change, but the plot may be the same. This can be applied to our own lives because people will look different, but will go through similar situations. Pi also used the Bengal tiger to represent a part of him. When the Bengal Tiger and he departed he mentioned feeling like part of his soul left too. In our lives, when we go through a situation, we can feel as though a part of us has left after we depart from the situation. Pi also encourages us throughout the book to seek more than just our physical being. He used this story as a way to create imagery for things he could feel, but could not see. He acknowleged the miraculous moments with the underlying message that things were happening that he could not explain. Lastly, the readers were encouraged to seek higher for things that seemed too large for us to handle. For these reasons, I recommend everyone in the world to read Life of Pi.
