DeeAndrea Carter is a graduate student pursuing a dual Master's of Education, Education Specialist degree in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Florida. A graduate Howard University with a B.S. in Psychology and a B.A. in Sociology, she was inspired to double major in the two subjects in order to understand the human mind, its functions, and motivations in individual and collective settings. Driven by a thirst for knowledge, DeeAndrea intends to follow the path of academic training all the way to earning a Doctoral degree. Outside of academia, DeeAndrea passions include youth development, community empowerment, social justice, and mental health. She hopes to spend her life tackling issues faced by the community by working as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and entrepreneur. Ultimately, DeeAndrea aims to own and operate a community development corporation to offer a host of services, including but not limited to community-based therapy, college and career readiness training, and economic development.
